Don't bother! They had decent breakfasts but still nothing great. Service was not good at all, and the location is right near entrance of main parking lot to fisherman's market/pier. There are much better choices in the area.

Great Color -- got seated quickly (amazing!); good food, service. Outdoor seating on a good day is quite good, but a bit crowded.

When visiting Avila Beach, my wife and I went to lunch Fat Cat's and were disappointed. The service was slow and the food was just fair. Next time we visit we will go elsewhere.

We drove into Avila Beach just looking around. We saw the restaurant and gave it a try. I'm sure glad we did. The food was very good. The service was quick and the entire visit was very nice. It's out of the way but worth the trip.

Hi travelers. My name is terry foster. I've been eating at fat cats from day one. I'm a native of San Luis obispo, born there in 1952. Carl the owner usually greats u at the entrance unless he's out swinging a golf club lol. There's out an indoor dinning. The food is exelant an plenty full. I know yuol love... More

Good variety of menu items and nice view of the harbor. Machaca was a little bland, but the hotcake my son ordered was perfect. The hubby had the chorizo scramble, & that was yummy. Very nice staff, as well. We sat on the patio, which I highly recommend.

Fat Cat's is a fun upscale coffee shop that had an extensive menu. Everything is good. I had the bacon and avocado omelette. Service is prompt they do get busy on the weekend. Prices are not the cheapest but reasonable.

Liked: nice location overlooking harbor, service was friendly. Disliked: not good value for quality of food. Scallops were soggy, bland, heavily breaded. Portions were huge, quantity over quality. My husband had fried oysters, bland over -breaded. Maybe we made poor choices, my daughters eggs Benedict looked good, huge portion , she couldn't finish it all but it was fine.

The food may be OK, but what we remember most is the lackadaisical service. The entry greeting is perfunctory, food service is haphazard, and you leave without any acknowledgement that you just dropped $35 for a couple sandwiches. We stopped going here, despite the cool location near Port Harford Pier.

Was a student at Poly, and lived in the area for a few years, but this was the first time eating at Fat Cats. Now I know why. Both hubs and I had fish tacos, daughter had fish & chips. The fish had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I guess I don't expect world class cuisine, but I expected the fish... More
