On a Working Pier

The old port inn is a throwback kind of place. Good seafood in a cool seafaring environment. Be sure to look below your table for a view of the sea. Nice feature.

I may have had the wrong dish when we visited recently but the portion was very large without flavor. The friends I was with seemed to like the Mahi Mahi and being able to observe the sea life down through a mirrored opening in the middle of the table as interesting. Probably great for kids. Staff and owner were very... More

We were here many years ago. Don't remember much about that visit except the table with the water view below. Here we are again. This time we won't forget! The food was fresh, cooked and seasoned just right. We had Fish Tacos and Rock Cod. The server was also excellent. Roxandra is not only beautiful, she was always there to be... More

My wife really wanted to eat at this restaurant because of the location on the pier and the option to look through the table into the ocean. I hope she got that out of her system because we didn't see anything in the water, and I was undewhelmed by the food. She ordered the fisherman's platter, which had a nice... More

While visiting relatives in California they took us out to dinner. The location ( out on the end of the peer) was interesting. The restaurant was old but clean. Being mid week it was not busy. We were seated and offered a drink from the bar before we ordered. I ordered a beer but none of the others ordered, expecting... More

It was our last night after a 2.5 week road trip around California, so we wanted somewhere memorable, we were not disappointed. On arrival we were met by David Whitestine who is the Owner, and from the beginning to end made to feel like his personnel guests. Now I have to explain that Olde Port Inn is at the end... More

My wife had the fisherman's plate and raved about it! I had the Caeser salad and my mistake for eating a salad at a seafood place (but the pounds had to stop). The staff was a bit blasé, but the awesome view made them drift away. Bring your wine from Alapay and there is no cork fee. We were there... More

We ate here twice because the food was very good, but service was mediocre the first time and down right bad the second. The challenge the food so great, I would good back again.

A rustic looking place from the outside, but quite charming and pretty on the inside with delicious food. Our mushroom appetizer, as well as the halibut and crab cake were fabulous. Our server, Brandi was delightful and professional. No corkage fee, definitely an added bonus. Thank you!

The Old Port Inn is in a beautiful location on the end of the Hanson pier in the port of San Luis. The service is excellent and the seafood is very fresh. An added plus is that some of the tables have see through windows to the bay underneath so as you are dining, you can look at the sea... More
