I have visited the Hula Hut numerous times with various bike groups. The staff is always welcoming and offers to fill our water bottles. Sometimes our bike groups take over the front patio but we are usually there at 10:30 before the lunch crowd arrives. I have also visited Hula Hut on solo bike rides for early breakfast. I love... Hula Hut Stopped in for ice cream after a great meal on the pier. It was 8:30 on a Wednesday night. They said they close at 9pm, but it seemed like they wanted to get out of there early. Floors were being mopped and chairs stacked. I had the Caramel Explosion in a sugar cone, my husband had their award... More

Excellent quality service with a smile. Staff was kind and considerate and the food was fresh and delicious. Sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine! They could not have been more attentive!

I took my sister there for breakfast as she was visiting from out of town. We ordered the waffles and they came with strawberry syrup, no fresh strawberries. She was disappointed. A few young people were there and one dropped his drink. The owner made disparaging comments about the young people and complained loudly about having to clean the floor.... More

Just a great place to eat, drink coffee, and buy cute gifts. Great ice cream....carmel blast.... Bill and Linda work their heads off to make this place excellent, and it is. Great views also.

We've eaten breakfast at Hula Hut on two different vacations in Avila and enjoyed it both times. The menu isn't very big, but they stick to things they're good at. I had a breakfast burrito and it was really great -- the perfect balance of ingredients and lots of fresh and delicious red and yellow bell peppers. My daughter had... More

The food menu is pretty deli-boring, but the Doc Burnstein's ice cream is worth the stop for sure. This is a licensed location for Doc B's which is opening, or has opened in San Luis Obispo. The ice cream has no air, it does not melt, it is creamy and yummy and the falvors are unique and awesome. One scoop... More

I don't know where they get it but it's better than anything we can get in southern California. The have a great selection of flavors, different size cones and great gifts for sale. The wine bottle stoppers are really unique,

We stopped in for lunches, snacks and drinks, and my husband and son had a big breakfast one morning before a long bike ride. All was delicious! They are so friendly there, too! They made us feel at home and so welcomed!

Stopped in here and bought some fudge to curb our sweet tooth craving after lunch at the Custom House. I usually don 't like fudge since it is too sweet but their fudge is delicious and not too sweet. Glad we stopped in and will do so again when we return to the area on our next visit.
