Beautiful, but short hours

The only reason I'm not giving Descanso a 5 is because I disagree with their hours of operation. You can only access your chairs/cabana from 11am-4pm. I feel that if I pay $65 for chairs I should have access to them since the crack of dawn. Yesterday my husband and I stayed till 5ish without a... read more

Seaside open air dining felt like Carribean or hawaii.. Just gorgeous clear water, had pork wrap, burger and fish sandwich.. Burger was best.. Drinks good..try the cucumber cooler.. Service ok.. And they charged for water which I found odd.. Setting was amazing.. Definitely will be back

You can't miss this area of Catalina Island when you visit. It is a short walk from the town of Avalon, just past the casino and there is a paved path all the way there that will get you off the road and out of the way of all golf carts. Part of the beach is rocky, but a lot... More

Upscale beach club location. Decent bar food - they were building the kitchen when we visited. Drinks are just okay, but the bars weren't full installed. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Past the Casino, nice beach club. Rocky beach, but has rentals for kayaks and equipment. We had rented a cabana ($250 per day and up in season). Very attentive service. Strawberry smoothies included. Water included. Electric outlet for charging phones, etc. Cabana has two lounge chairs, 2 chairs, sofa, table and ottoman. Very limited menu. If you are a vegetarian... More

Great service! Food and drinks right to your lounge chair! My boyfriend and I spent two of our three days here. The drink selection was great but I'd like to seemore than four items on the menu including some healthy plant-based options. Can't wait to go back again!

Negatives: You could probably order a pizza from Long Beach and have it arrive before your meal.(Long Beach is an hour ride from the Island by ferry). This is not hyperbole, but true. Many people returned their food by the time it arrived since they had waited for such a long time. Drinks are on the expensive side; probably feel... More

My boyfriend and I went to Catalina and we spent the afternoon hanging out at descanso bar. The bartenders were super nice and the drinks were really great! I loved their cucumber margarita!

Love this place!!! It's a great location to relax and enjoy the beach. The service is outstanding from the management to the server. We were greeted by Ben who was extremely welcoming and seated by Catherine who was very accommodating and helpful. She seated us in a cozy cabana with an awesome view. She was very thoughtful in offering us... More

This place is really cool, it reminds me of Cabo San Lucas or Hawaii. The food is mediocre at best, but just sitting next to the beach, relaxing with a drink and listening to the music makes for a wonderful and relaxing experience. Enjoy!
