Good service above average food

The lobster ravioli was amazing, the chicken Marsala was very average. Nice atmosphere, good service. Our server was friendly without being overbearing. Would recommend if you are in the mood for Italian, obviously.

We had an amazing trip to Catalina, we were there for 2 weeks it is an annual trip which I have been taking since I was a child. The trip in 2014 was made even better with our visits to Ristorante Villa Portofino, we will be returning this year & plan to make several reservations at Portofino! Everyone from bussers,... More

Always a great place to wine and dine! On average, we dine here at least twice when visiting Avalon. You just can't beat the selections. A great place for our little groups of 4 to 8.

Had dinner at this restaurant at the recommendation of my sister and her husband, who visit Avalon regularly. The food was excellent and the service was above average. Would return in a heartbeat.

We were a group of 8 adults and two toddlers taking my brother and sister-in-law out for their 5yr anniversary. Everyone spoke highly of their meals. Mine for one was one of the best servings of red snapper I've ever put in my mouth. I chose to have it piccata style as recommended by our server. I felt the all... More

Portofino is a great place to get your group together for wine, cocktails and dinner, however be careful about the calculation of your tab. Make sure it looks right prior to using your credit card. We don't know whether it was the waiter's fault or ours for not checking but we later found we were overcharged by about $50.

Hi All, We just got back from our trip to Catalina and had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. Our server, Jason, suggested the Swordfish and it was delicious! Jason was also helpful with the rest of our guests dinner suggestions based on their palettes... there were 6 of us and we ordered appetizers through deserts... all were wonderful. Jason... More

This restaurant is attached to a hotel with the same name. We dined al fresco with a great view of the harbor and casino. It is Italian themed, which is appropriate given the name. We started with Pinot Grigio. The bread, with balsamic vinegar & oil, was fresh. My wife, a fantastic Italian cook, had the spaghetti and meatballs. She... More

We wanted to like this .... First, the service was awful. We felt as though they were doing a favor each time they came to our table. The food was very mediocre. The olive oil/balsamic vinegar didn't taste fresh not did the shrimp appetizer. Our main courses were not memorable ... I had a pasta dish that was bland and... More
