Fresh, friendly, local

We had dinner twice at The Lobster Trap during a three day stay on Catalina. The staff was friendly and helpful about the menu items. The service was prompt, the beer cold and the seafood my companion and I had each day was fresh and well prepared. The portions were large and a value in a resort... read more

I was happy with the food, but the ambiance left something to be desired. It was loud, and our stools were uncomfortable. The TVs were very loud. We enjoyed our meal, though, and the seafood was clearly fresh.

My husband and I need a restaurant at 9:00 p.m. and pretty much all of the other restaurants were closed. Food: the food was pretty solid. We shared a few things. The clam chowder which was our least favorite. Very thick with little flavor but a lot of clams. We ordered the lobster roll (we took the advice of another... More

If you're from the east coast do not order the lobster roll. It was served on a french roll with very little lobster. Extremely disappointing! The fish and chips were very dry.

My wife and I had heard from several locals that The Lobster Trap is a favorite eatery. We had a pleasant experience overall. The halibut was fresh and the chicken Parmesan was very filling. The waiter was willing to accommodate menu changes. Great experience!

This is a very good fish/seafood restaurant. The meals were done to perfection. The restaurant wasn't too noisy likely because it was mid week and off season. The Lobster Trap was recommended by the desk staff at our hotel as; "You will like it" and we did.

Poke, seared ahi, scallops wrapped in bacon, shrimp wrapped in bacon, coconut shrimp with a tangy sauce. This has become one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in Avalon. Walking in to the restaurant, I did not expect this 5 star quality. Thumbs up!

This restaurant has an unadvertised $10 beer and burger special that is worth checking out. Its available on Wednesdays and served all day. The burgers were a good size and you can add cheese for a small fee.

Stopped here for a late lunch. It's about a block off the main strip. They had some good prices on some great local beers. The food was great. I had the raw oysters and fish tacos, while the wife had a plate of swordfish covered in mango salsa. It was all very tasty. We thought the portions were rather generous.... More

Lively eaterie and bar with awesome service and FRESH ingredients! My wife and I ate here twice for lunch and dinner. The prices are reasonable and the portions are healthy. The Cioppino, Oysters Rockefeller, and house salad were scrumptious! We split this meal and were stuffed, but happy! The Yellow Tail fish, clam chowder, salmon salad were shared and again,... More
