I had such high hopes for this "breakfast all day" restaurant based on the crowd out front. After waiting about 15 minutes for a table, the service was relatively prompt. However, the food was really disappointing: my over-medium eggs were very runny, the "famous potatoes" (diced hash browns with a few miniscule specks of green pepper) were cold, and the... More

If you plan on visiting Catalina and are looking for a great breakfast, check out The Cottage Restaurant. They have some of the best pancakes I have ever had. The restaurant was super busy, but we only had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table. It took a while before our server actually came over to our table,... More

If you like home-style food, this is the breakfast place. Portions are large, full bar, and friendly service. The Pancake Cottage is family owned, Murial, the owner, still works. She always has a happy face, and keeps an eye on the service. Today we were fortunate enough to be served by Murial. They have excellent Mimosas' and Bloody Mary's! NOTE:... More

Great menu..really looking forward to it. But........pecan pancake was pure stodge, could have been cardboard. My wife left nearly all of it, server said nothing. As for my eggs Benedict ? Really revolting, looked and tasted like custard spread over the eggs. Also expensive for what you get. Never again. Caters obviously for the day trippers. Gallaghers much better quality and... More

walk straight into the Pancake Cottage, very welcoming staff, airy, and the breakfast service was. Great. Easy and smart choice to make to begin your day.

So, to get the basics out of the way, the food here is really good. Best sausage I've had in ages and my husband loved their corned beef hash. You could just go for just the food and be completely happy and glad you made that choice. But, if you happen to be lucky enough to meet Muriel, you'll never... More

The food at the Pancake Cottage is wonderful. The portions are huge, so think about sharing, especially the "everything goes" omelette. It is big enough for four people. The pancakes were outstaning. Did not eat lunch here but will certainly try it on next visit. The wait staff were great and my first visit to the Cottage was most pleasant... More

Both of us had breakfast menu at about noon. We had eggs and potatoes and shared the four slices of bacon that came with one of the dishes. The potatoes were excellent and among the best we ever tasted! I had a biscuit and it was good. Wife had toast but had to ask for jelly tray but they did... More

So many breakfast choices to choose from on the menu. Everything is delicious. Be sure to use the homemade salsa on your eggs. Seating is great for people watching.

Always passed this and never stopped but did this time. Food was good, they are only open for breakfast (their specialty) and then for lunch. The owner, Muriel is a cute little hard working owner whose husband passed away. She is a busy hard worker that wants her customers to be happy. Food came out fast once ordered.
