Pretty good burger!

Stopped by today and ordered the teriyaki onion burger. Only items listed for the burger were the meat, onions and teriyaki sauce. I was excited because I love simple. I was a little disappointed when I got my burger and it had lettuce, tomato and some kind of sauce on it. I took my first bite and... read more

Our family always stop here coming or going to the Bay Area It is a "FAMILY TRADITION"Also their restrooms are always clean and once on Easter returning after they were closed they had left the restrooms open with lights on We thought that was a very nice gesture They have bags of apples for sale sometimes and wonderful tomatoes in... This fresh market was (is) located just down the street from our hotel, the Best Western Golden Key, so we decided to stop in and check it out. OMG! If I lived next to a place like this I'd never buy my produce from a grocery store again. Fresh fruit and vegetables to die for. Fresh homemade cookies, breads, candy/fudge,... More

Ikeda's used to be known for their pies and that they were a country store selling fresh fruit and other market things. Lately, they've become known for their burgers - which are very good and fresh! We made a pit stop here from San Francisco to Tahoe and it was a pleasant surprise. They close early - 7 pm on... More

Trip to Reno or Lake Tahoe is not complete without a stop at Ikeda's for their natural beef burgers, milk shakes or slice of homemade pie. Or shop in their market for just about anything from fresh organic fruit to a selection of California wines. However fresh made fruit pies are their specialty and go fast. Or my favorite is... More

This place was to be a quick stop off I80 on the way back to the Bay Area, the store was great and although we were there half an hour before closing, the place was packed. They were really efficient with the orders and the employees all looked as if they were taking a break from their J Crew photo... More

When driving on I-80, up to Tahoe, this is the place to stop. They do have a restaurant, but we go for the homemade pies! This time we bought Cherry Crumble and Marionberry pies...they were still warm, even when we got to Tahoe an hour later! Their crusts are the flakiest, the crumble is buttery and light. These pies are... More

anyone who travels to Tahoe on Hwy. 80 knows about Ikeda. Its been there forever and has been a great stop for those who want a casual burger. the roadside attraction also has a little add-on fruitstand/gourmet goods store with lots of local mandarins and other great Placer County fruit, plus local meats and even salmon from good sources (not... We stop here on our way back and forth to Tahoe. It looks like a hole in the wall but they have great food. I love the Bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado sandwich (the bacon is thick, chewy and delicious!) My husband recently had the tri tip sandwich with au jus. He said it was off the chart good! My daughter... More

Seldom do you come upon an establishment that has excellent food and an even better offering of produce, pastries and much more. We use to stop at Ikeda's on our way back to Tahoe from the Bay Area. Now that we live in Auburn we make it a point to do some of our shopping on a regular basis. They... More
