Better than expected in this tourist mecca

Odd place in Auburn. My expectations were low but once we sat down we found the food and service to be great. We tried the “flight” of bacon just for fun and it was interesting. I had the steak an cheese which I usually avoid but this time it was the best one I have ever had. A really good... read more

Return visit with my daughter and a family friend was delightful. It was a very warm Saturday morning. We got there early so we did not have to wait to be seated. That is probably the best advice I can give a traveler is be prepared to wait a while especially on the weekends. Annie's is notorious for taking your... More

I had hear that the restaurant was moving and I had seen the new sign on the side of the freeway. However, I was traveling with a friend and wanted to show her the old part of Auburn and look for a restaurant that was open for breakfast. To my delight I discovered that Awful Annie's was still there. What... More

Awful Annie's is a local landmark and is often crowded with locals who eat here on a regular basis. The turkey avocado BLT is a large sandwich with turkey, bacon, avocado, lettuce and tomato on a French roll spread with mayonnaise. Another favorite of the party is Tracys trio salad – a large bowl mixture of cashew chicken, tuna, and... More

We really enjoyed this fun, popular local spot. They serve breakfast and lunch with an interesting menu, at great prices. Be sure to try the awesome chocolate walnut bread!

This place is a real find. Great atmosphere, helpful and knowledgeable staff, and a very interesting and complete menu. The choices are many and varied with unusual pairings and flavors. I had a breakfast Monte Crisco that had all the traditional stuff plus a great raspberry sauce, fresh blueberries, and an egg inside! The fried asparagus appetizer with a spicy... More

My friend recommend this place for our breakfast meet up. It was Saturday morning but crowded, lucky we didn't wait too long. They have lots of selections, surprise to see the large amount of each plate :) great place if you are really hungry!

This is the place for benedicts in Auburn; all others (including Katrina's) fail in relation to their hollandaise. We moved east just as AA was moving to their new location. Having I-80 easy off/on access will help their business, I'm sure, but I already know I'll miss sitting on the deck at the former Old Town location if we come... More

What a nice surprise to see that all the favorable reviews are right. Even though we went during a weekday, Awful Annie's is a busy place...but tables open quickly and our wait was very short. If you can, take advantage of the outdoor seating because of the pleasant atmosphere and view of old town Auburn. Service is fast and friendly,... More

This is a staple in the Auburn area. Ask for the crab Benedict even if it is not on the menu as a special. They will be moving soon to a new and larger place, I can hardly wait to check the new place out
