Worth a kook

Bootleggers has evolved from a formerly high end fine dining venue down to a more middlin menu and pricing point, probably due to competitive pressures from adjacent establishments. It's current offerings are more acceptable to the clientele's palate wallet, with American fare dominant. My... read more

Between appointments with just 45 min. for lunch we enjoyed a relaxing and up scale setting where in less time then expected our food was in front of us. We'd not told our server that we were in a hurry, they simply are on top of things in the kitchen. We did order one of the lunch specials a beef... More

Wish I lived nearby as this Chinese chicken salad was excellent: fresh and varied greens, slender julienned jicama, tender fennel, shredded red cabbage, and yummy chicken. The dressing was sweet and tangy, not too heavy, and spiced well. A huge deep fried wonton accompanies the salad. Interesting location in Old Town Auburn, so browse a bit in the cute shops... More

We love Bootleggers! The food is always consistent and the wait staff very professional. I love the special touches of fresh flowers on the tables and in the flower boxes outside for their patio dining. It's almost always crowded on Wednesday Date Night where two people can have two entrees, salads, (or soup) and a desert to share. Their wine... More

When we visited historic Auburn, we checked this place out for dinner... It has an interesting interior... They have some craft brews and wines available.. The food is ok, service is ok.. This restaurant is ok... The burger is supposed to be really good but I thought it was ok... I do like the set up and feel of the... More

Back to visit for special occasion. Steak was good. Enjoyed the seasonal decor and the real fireplace.

This is a great restaurant complete with a new chef for the past several months. We love Wednesday nights here. We go for date night--an amply satisfying meal for two for just under $30. Nice staff and great ambience too!

I've been here a couple times and both times I had low expectations just because it feels so outdated. Maybe it's the white linen table cloths, I don't know. But it's actually very good! Good quality, flavorful, good variety. It's one of the best places I've been to in Auburn and it isn't expensive. They do not have hard alcohol,... More

Took our son and dtr in law for birthday dinner. Seafood jumbalia was delicious; prime rib cooked perfectly; salmon to die for and steak was cooked just right. Had a wonderful time with meals that were perfect. It was Halloween night, so even got treated to servers in costume. Ours was a cave man. Thanks for a perfect night.

Always a favorite, quiet, great atmosphere, fabulous food. We love to go and sit in the bar on a cold night by the fire!
