This place is quaint, romantic, and invokes the small town feel of Auburn. It is located conveniently near the freeway. First trip to Bootleggers was about two years ago. Service was prompt and efficient for a weekday. Seated upon arrival. Food ordered including a multi-course meal of salad, the daily deal, and dessert. We ordered wine. Beverages were kept charged.... I have never eaten here and wish I had chosen to do so sooner, I LOVE IT! Delicious food, fair prices, local wine list, and attentive staff. The ambiance is just right, inside or out. My boyfriend had the special, chicken fettuccine in a light pesto cream sauce and I had the Prime Rib. The "small" order was gigantic! I... More

We've tried this place a few times over the years and have always come away with the same feeling about it: It has a rather odd menu selection which doesn't always inspire our appetites, but what we do end up ordering is always very good. We haven't been enticed by the menu to return very often, however. Service is good.

We eat at Bootleggers occasionally and it has always been very good. The food is very fresh and the wait staff attentive. The menu seems to change seasonally which I like. Love to go here in the winter and sit by the fireplace. All in all a great place.

The food, quite simply is very good. You can't go wrong here for dinner and in the winter with the fire place ablaze it is some nice ambiance. Nice little bar scene and outdoor seating as well.

This was a spur of the moment stop - and it was a great one! Service and food were excellent! Great selection of kids meals at reasonable prices. Well done Bootleggers!

It was a blustery night and the fireplace was calling my name. My husband and I found a close spot to eat and sip wine. The atmosphere is nice with a live pianist and everything. I didn't love my husband's prime rib, which didn't seem to have a whole lot of flavor, but I enjoyed my fish. The creme brûlée... More

Best French Onion soup ever, followed by Korean Skirt Steak, with Chocolate Brownie al a mode for desert, all to die for . Bootleggers always has great food and great service. It's where I take friends and clients from out of town. If you are a wine snob, go to Carpe VIno. If you like good food without the pretension,... More

As the title suggests, we had high hopes for Bootlegger but ended up quite unhappy with service and food. To begin with the service was "indifferent" at best, and bordered on reluctant. The food itself was just barely OK. Everything seemed just plain and no creativity. Some dishes were overcooked, such as the mussels, which had been so over warmed... More

When I want a nice meal in Auburn I usually choose Carpe Vino. Last night they were closed because of a water leak so we decided to try our Bootleggers. I would have to say that it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. We were seated and 15 minutes later the waiter comes. He was very pleasant... More
