Appetizing meal of Appetizers

Two friends from out of town and I enjoyed a lunch of only appetizers. The Dungeness Crab Cakes - two per order - were fresh and delicious and we devoured them quickly. The appetizer portion of macaroni and three cheeses was served piping hot and added to our enjoyment. In addition, our order of... read more

Today my buddy got the seasonal urge for Corned Beef & Cabbage. It was on the lunch menu at least for today, St. Patrick's Day. It was very competent corn beef, slices which were moist & flavorful. The accompaniments of potato, cabbage, & carrot were tasty & not overdone. An accompanying Guinness Stout wasn't n the cards today, I settled... More

When you walk in, you first see the bar. It is a beautiful carved wood, old school bar that is immediately inviting. To the right was a working, stone fireplace which was perfect on this chilly night. You can eat in the bar area or the more formal dining area. The tables in the dining room are covered in white... Food quality is mediocre. This is based on several visits to this restaurant. Hope that they can improve on this shortcoming.

On Wednesday nights you can take advantage of "Date Night" and save a bundle. The menu for date night changes every week but here's how it works. Two people can have a 3 course dinner for $29. Each person gets their choice of a house salad, a cup of soup or a Caesar salad to share (on separate plates). You... More

Suprising find for a small foothills community in the Gold Country. Best upscale dining in Auburn. Always reliable : creative specials, good steaks/poultry/seafood, lamb, all fantastic. Great wine list. Located in historic old town part of Auburn, near lots to to with craft brews, art galleries, gifts, wine bars, and shops all in a two block area. Only downsides: parking can... My wife & a friend and I stopped in at Bootleggers for a snack and ended up having a rockin' appetizer dinner. We started with a large House salad with the Rasberry vinegarette. Wild greens and great croutons with crumbled blue cheese ..... delicious and big enough for all three of us to share. Then some of the biggest and... More

This place was fantastic!!! We ate on the patio to take advantage of the fabulous weather. We had a late lunch and the idea was to eat light so we wouldn't be stuffed for dinner so we ordered a couple of appetizers and a salad. Wow!!! The crab cakes were fantastic and the calamari was the absolute best we had... More

Bootleggers is one of my favorite restaurants. I prefer Lunch when it is not so busy. But with a reservation for dinner, one is embarking on a culinary delight. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is delightful, and the service is attentive. Add to that its proximity to where I live in Newcastle and you have a winning combination.

This place is quaint, romantic, and invokes the small town feel of Auburn. It is located conveniently near the freeway. First trip to Bootleggers was about two years ago. Service was prompt and efficient for a weekday. Seated upon arrival. Food ordered including a multi-course meal of salad, the daily deal, and dessert. We ordered wine. Beverages were kept charged....
