Second time eating here and it's still good. Sandwiches are huge, music great but not too loud and waitress was attentive. It was busy but food came out quickly. Enjoyed my visit once again!

Had been wanting to try this restaurant. Drove to Auburn, CA, to give it a try. It was July 5, 2014, 3:30 pm, not real hungry, so we decided to split a patty melt. Ordered it medium, and it came out well done, and burnt on the bottom and not hot, coupled with it took so long for it to... More

Very convenient to the highway with lots of parking. This is part of the Holiday Inn but can stand alone as a nice place to have a convenient meal. We especially enjoyed breakfast.

Thought I would take my mom to a Mothers Day Brunch at Max's - sounded good on their ad - even advertised Shrimp Scampi $.... Got sat.... waited a while then got some service, ordered some soft drinks & was advised on where the buffet was - alas, we only got part of the info, as a portion of the... More

We have been there several times because of their wide choice of menu options, something for everyone! We had great service even with 2 large Prom parties going on the same time we were there! The food was very good, we had a variety, Enchilada Pot Pie to Prime Rib! The desserts are huge and excellent. There is a full... More

We dined at Max's a couple of times over the past few years, and my husband was previously disappointed with the options for dinner. I'm thankful that he didn't bring that up when it was my turn to choose a restaurant for dinner. For our meal there last night we were overwhelmed with the variety of amazing sounding options for... We often visit Max's for lunch and every time I go there, I am urged to try a new dish, but I always end up getting their wonderful French Onion Soup. My wife likes their salads, but I am a soup nut and theirs is almost as good as the French restaurant that we used to go to down in... More

We went in on a weekend; we're familiar with this small chain from the SF Bay Area. The Auburn restaurant holds up to the reputation of the other locations, dependably great food. The waitress was really thorough in explaining the 2 soups + a sandwich option, a special they have at lunch; my husband had that one. I love the... More

Just a quickie -- four of us enjoyed Max's recently. The food is as good as ever. But the prices have jumped. It's pretty pricey to enjoy their signature pot pie, still the best in our region. Go for the food but sell some stuff on Craigslist first.

Wide variety on the menu. A little pricy on a few items for what you get. Very good service in a nice atmosphere. Some of the desserts are awesome and large. I recommend sharing some of them. We have been there several times.
