Good food-good beer

Wonderful atmosphere & a comfortable patio. The beer is really good & so is the food. One of the best jambalayas I have ever had. The servers seem to keep half an eye on each other's tables to make sure guests are taken care of.

Went for lunch with friends on a Friday. Drinks were okay but they messed up on one of them, twice. The meat was under cooked when asked for medium well, was pretty much medium rare. The server said "Oh, then you wanted well done". Know, I wanted medium well, very little pink. Very rude. Ahi was good, burger was good.

When you pay over $10 for a salad, I think it's fair to get a heaping plate that will fill you up. After swallowing my seared tuna and greens in three bites, I was left starved and feeling cheated. The portion was honestly the size of my 5 year old daughters hand. I had to order a second meal to... More

Oldest running CA state liquor license, over 100 years. Run by grandchildren. Really nice building decor; tin ceiling; earthquake retrofitted. Previously a Chinese restaurant. In historical town of Auburn. My husband had chili. He loved the hard cider. U had Shanghai lettuce wraps were just ok (bit sweet for my taste & sauces only ok).

Good atmosphere, nice crowd to mingle among locals and tourists; good brewed-on-site beer and happy hour-Be sure to check out Taco Tuesday! A really neat place to hang out if you can find parking. Got good service in spite of the crowd.

Very stylish ale house set in lower town Auburn. Fabulous menu, we had the high end hamburger and bourbon bread pudding. So good I totally ate too much! Great bar, great selection of beers.

Happened upon this place as a group dinner after a workshop. Local recommendation was fantastic. Impressive beers made on site, full gamut of tastes. Tacos for $2 on Tuesdays, oh yeah. Tuna nachos and fried dill pickles were excellent. I had puled pork sliders, very good. We sat on the patio and the smell from the smoker was awesome. The... More

We took our large family here for breakfast and everyone enjoyed it very much. Food and service were excellent. It is a fun, historical place to eat on the patio and relax in old Auburn.

One of the most popular places in town. Wait times vary. Staff is usually close to predicting the wait. Friendly they are. Prompt and helpful once you get started. There are a variety of in house beers that is surely to engage most. I have yet to find a beer that I didn't like out here. Food I have ordered... More

Huge fan of the PU 240 (Imperial IPA), but the Ale House has non-IPA's, like the Fools Gold, (has flavor and respectable a.b.v.) and the Shanghai Stout (flat out delicious) for those who don't necessarily do "hop". (No disrespect to the brewer or the beers, but sometimes blending their brews isn't a bad idea either. Get a sampler and have... More
