Daughter-in-law was right!

Our daughter-in-law recommended Auburn Ale House as a perfect lunchtime stop on our way home via I-80! Great food & brew and a lovely break in the day! Chili was top-notch--flavorful without being ridiculously spicy! Reuben was on my top 5 best list! Will return on future trips!

My husband, daughter and I went to Auburn Ale House in the early evening. We decided to start with the appetizer of Roasted Artichoke Beer Dip. It came with three fried artichokes on top and several pieces of sourdough bread. It was wonderful. We all liked it. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was beer battered and perfectly... More

We visit Auburn Alehouse every six months on our way to/from Lake Tahoe. We often stop in for lunch. The lunch menu is adult and kid friendly. Our favorites are burgers, tacos, and chicken fingers. Our favorite brews are the Pale Ale and IPA. Tip: The summer seasonal brew -- Independence Ale is a winner. Stock up with a few... More

We tried out the ale house for the first time today and it was delicious!! The atmosphere is wonderful with a full view in the brewery. We both had the ale house burger and were very please. We definitely recommend this spot!

This building is recognized as the oldest continuously operated liquor license in California. For over 100 years it was known as the "Shanghai Restaurant" and owned by the Yue family. During that time the John Travolta movie "Phenomenon" was filmed in the bar and around Auburn. The restaurant was sold several years ago and re-opened as "The Auburn Alehouse." They... More

Every Wednesday is cask night and the night when I see friends who are like family. A usual crowd that know each other and make the evening that much better. Brian and Lisa are the nicest people on the face of the planet and take pride in their baby. I love the beer, I love the food, and I love... More

Cool idea for Auburn, but some of the rudest waitresses I've ever encountered. Too bad. Not my kind of beer either but decent food. Good appetizers. Won't return, don't need to be dissed by employees in bad moods.

I would say they deserve 4-5 stars if it hadn't been for the slacking service. Yes they were busy. It was a Sunday afternoon, I'm sure they are usually busy. The hostess was not at all friendly. The server was cheery but a bit unobservant. It took 15 minutes after we sat down to get a beer. How difficult is... More
