A great place to stop on the way to Lake Tahoe. Auburn Ale House has really good beers and their food is pretty great too. Stop by and try it out.

Love this place! Always end up stopping there on our way home from assorted activities in the Tahoe area. Great beer, great food, great character! I particularly like the downtown brown ale but have also tried the sampler on several occasions! Fun place with friends. Maybe a bit noisy at times, but it adds to the ambiance. Never ordered something... More

We arrived at Auburn Ale House on a holiday weekend evening. It was packed and the wait, we were told, would be 45 minutes to an hour. We agreed to wait it out and maybe start on a beer or two. There is quite a selection to choose from. After being seated, we started with an appetizer order of cheese... More

We were late to eat and have a beer, so we Siri a local restaurant and brew house, it came up with Auburn Ale House, and we decided to try it since it was almost 11 pm. We were greeted by a friendly host, and was told the menu was closing in 15 minutes, so we promised to hurry and... More

Had to try the seared Ahi salad again, this time with a friend. Lo and behold they scored again! Nice piece of fish seared just right with some very good veggies, and a boiled egg. My buddy liked it as well. Alas, the beer they offer is mostly quite "hoppy". That is my problem not theirs. Did have a nice... More

As a group of 9 coming from Victorian Christmas in Nevada City back to Sacramento, this place was the perfect stop for food and drink alike. With the location being just of Hwy 80, it was great that we didn't have to drive through town to get there. I was very surprised that the wait was only 30 minutes for... More

The food is good and the beer is better. It depends on what you order. They need new food items and use more local, organic ingredients. It is always loud and noisy there. It is a great spot to try and visit every few months.

Great Food & Friendly Service. Prices good and they will let you deviate from the menu. The only negative is that the place has a concrete floors and brick walls and the place is pretty loud.

This is a long established restaurant/brewery located about half way between Lake Tahoe and the San Francisco Bay Area that we stop at for brunch or lunch when we're traveling to Reno or Lake Tahoe. To my surprise the beer can be found at many local stores & restaurants throughout California. The menu has a good selection of salads and... More
