After seventy some years, the great old restaurant right off of HWY 80 is now closed. The local newspaper said that Awful Annies will be taking over the restaurant and will be opening soon after some remodeling. The original Awful Annies in old town Auburn will remain open until May of 2015. We will miss the big neon sign of... More

I've passed by the restaurant since I was in high school heading up to go skiing and never stopped in. Well, it's not the kind of place kids in high school want to stop at any ways. But now as an older person, but not that old, I decided to stop on in on our way back from the Bay... More

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel we stayed at and was close, so we gave it a try. It doesn't look like much from the outside and really nothing special on the inside either, but the food was terrific! We had the fettucine alfredo with shrimp. I loved it! Delicious! One of the best alfredo sauces I've had -... More

the tempura avocado appetizer is utterly yummy and a large portion. their traditional osso bucco is the reason i come here, it's a classic. that said, i have never had better fettucine alfredo anywhere in the world.

This is old school dining with a prime rib dinner with mashed potatoes and veggies for less than $16. The restaurant also has a long list of burgers, half pound, flame broiled.

After reading reviews and staying in the hotel next door, it's was a must try. Amazing Food ! Yes the restaurant has dated decor, not romantic or exciting. It took about and hour for our food to come to the table, mind you they were hand making our mushroom ravioli and roasted garlic. Completely worth the wait. Will be on... More

The Best Western Hotel recommended this place and it was disgusting! We had just had a long drive and did a take out of prime rib and some salads. The lettuce in the salads was slimy and rotten. The prime rib was flavorless. We ended up throwing it all out and drove up the street to buy a new dinner... More

My wife and I just moved into the area and had to try this 60 year old restaurant. In many respects in is like stepping back into the 1950s. I can't believe the décor has changed much from the original motif in this location. Very neat and clean, but definitely from a time when all things were much simpler. The... More

I get to Auburn 2-3 times each year, but had never been to this restaurant. Was in town over the weekend and went to Lou's with a cousin (a semi-foodie) and her husband (more so). They normally dine at the higher end of things, but decided to take me to Lou La Bonte's as they figured it was more my... More
