Fun and flavorful

This was our first time here. The place is very lively and kind of loud but that made it fun. There was a wait so we sat at the counter for dinner. I had the pork ribs and they were fall off the bone amazing. The fish tacos delicious with a cabbage slaw. I recommend stopping here to give it... read more

This restaurant has been in Auburn for years, but this was the first time we've eaten there. My husband was particularly curious about their fish tacos. We waited to be seated, waited to give our order, and when the server finally made it to our table, she was distracted and acted like she was not interested in being there (she... More

My family of 3 eat here last weekend when Ikedas, just down the street, was too packed. I read all the good reviews online & was excited to perhaps stumble on a lesser-known secret spot. We ordered chips & guac, a pork burrito, fish tacos & a kid's burrito. Every item was mediocre - no better than you'd get at... More

I ordered the chicken sweet potato burrito to go. This item was on the menu and it only said that it had the chicken and sweet potatoes in it. When I opened it up and took the first bite, I was very disappointed. There was rice, beans and coleslaw in it. All I can say is yuck!

We've been periodically getting two fish taco plates to go for several years now. This used to be a treat and was something we looked forward to. Over the past six months (maybe more) the carryout quality has dramatically slipped. Sometimes they forget to put the special sauce on the fish tacos. Sometimes the fish is broiled, sometimes it's fried.... More

Joe is a great chef. He has a special touch for jerk spice and his special hot sauce. Nice wine and fun desserts. He does some great specials too. If you're feeling brave, try the greens with coconut milk--really good!

Their shrimp tacos is fabulous! The flavor incredible! The wait staff is friendly and accommodating. They can get busy on the weekend, so plan accordingly.

We usually stop at Lou La Bonte's restaurant in Auburn, but that is no longer possible because Lou's is closed. But we found a good substitute for Lou's just a few doors east. Joe Caribe offers an eclectic menu of caribbean, Cajun, and American food. I had the fish tacos, which includes two tacos, and a big plate of rice... More

This place is great and dependable and unique, which is the part I like about Joe's. The fish tacos are different and my kind of food with lots of veggies and good fresh fish, grilled or fried to suit you. Other offerings have been excellent as well including black beans, rice and other Latin food entrees. Easy to get to... More

Right off Highway 80, so great for travelers. Good selection of food and drink, and being a vegetarian they have food for me too! You can't go wrong here! Good place to take visitors, friends. Sit by the fireplace if you can (in the cold months). Good friendly service too
