Visited Arcata for 3 days touring HSU. After reading trusted tripadvisor reviews decided to try Sushi Spot. Food was delicious and service terrific. Sushi chef was a graduate of HSU and was very friendly and informative! Would def go back!

Wonderful sushi and donburri rice bowl, but perhaps a little expensive... not out of line with many of the other Japanese places in the area, but a little expensive. The $2 Hamachi Shooter was really excellent (small shot glass of very nicely spiced Hamachi). I will probably go back, but I will not eschew Tomo across the street, or other... More

Great service, and the specialty rolls and sashimi selections were absolutely fantastic. The "regular" rolls were not terribly exciting, but I'd certainly return and focus on eating off of the special/daily selections menu.

I went when they first opened and found the food patchy; basics were fine, but the more complicated rolls and dishes were not well done. A friend invited me to lunch about a year later, so I decided to give it another try. Wow - so much better! I was so impressed I took my husband the following week, and... More

I am not positive of the month I went this year. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but something changed. Instead of a whole piece of salmon, it was pieces all soaked in soy sauce. The little potatoes I liked, are now larger and have an oily taste to them. Something has changed, and I am not... More

This restaurant has delicious food, good wait staff, and is clean! Open after 4pm on weekends and open lunch through dinner on weekdays (very convenient hours during the week). The food, vegetables and fish are fresh. Nice menu selections with daily specials. This is not a large restaurant, so there can be a wait. They do not currently take reservations.... More

Consistently very good to excellent sushi. California fusion style. Nice ambiance, comfortable, casual. When we want sushi we check Sushi Spot or Tomo to see which has available seating. They are both great, and very popular.

Wow - 3 great sushi restaurants in Arcata. I've been coming to Arcata for 4 years now and never even knew this restaurant existed. The waitress said they'd been open 5 years? It's pretty much right on the square, halfway down a side street. We saw they had good reviews so tried it. You can't go wrong with any sushi... More

Servers are very nice, and the 2 sushi rolls we had (the Trinidad and the Dragonfly) were excellent, with really unusual combinations of ingredients and flavors. They also do a nice seaweed salad. All this for about $15 per person -- well worth it.
