The Sushi Spot is a great choice for lunch or dinner. The Arcata restaurant is located on the plaza downtown and despite other competitive sushi restaurants nearby, they always seem to be busy. The menu is extensive, lots of options. The rolls are fresh and delicious. Great sake too! Very friendly, helpful waitstaff.

MCKINLEYVILLE branch: It's hard to taste one's dinner when the noise from too loud music and too loud compensating conversation bombard the senses. That's a shame too, because the presentation is beautiful. Also the hot food kitchen does not communicate with the sushi chefs. The three of us received our entrees at three different times. The waitstaff were lovely and... More

Sushi Spot is a small restaurant, so when it is busy it can be hard to get in (although they now have a second restaurant on Central Ave. in McKinleyville). They have a wide selection of sushi, rolls and other good stuff. Excellent appetizers and some of the tastiest and most creative rolls in the Humboldt Bay area.

I usually go here 3-4 times a month and still love it. Great menu variety, fresh ingredients, clean dining area. Service is usually good. Lunch time hours from 12 noon and then serving all day through dinner. New McKinleyville location only serving dinner. This is not a large restaurant, so there can be a wait. They do not currently take... More

Unique rolls, great flavor combinations. Avoid the deep fried ones though (and they have a lot). And don't come too hungry - good food takes time!

There is usually a wait of at about 20 minutes, but it is so worth the wait. They are willing to accommodate for allergies to the best of their ability without being put out. The mushroom roll is mind glowingly delicious! I ordered a repeat of it. And get two every time I go now. I've been back three times.... More

We were thrilled that we didn't need a reservation and ended up being seated immediately, but unfortunately our server was not very attentive throughout the meal. We would have ordered more food and drinks but it was difficult to capture her attention so we ended up leaving earlier than we would have liked. If we lived in the area I... More

The sushi rolls were some of the freshest tasting rolls I've had in a long time. The atmosphere is friendly and it was quite busy. Despite the fact they were so busy, we had our food and drinks promptly served to us and our waitress come around often to check on us. Delicious food and great atmosphere!

I love the sushi at Sushi Spot! My favorite rolls are the Klamath Roll, with salmon katsu, and the Tempura Prawn Roll, but really, they are all good. The atmosphere is intimate, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is great. There aren't reservations but they have take out. There is a new Sushi Spot location in McKinleyville. The new... More
