Nice Italian with traditional menu

Good solid food in a upscale setting situated off the plaza in a central location. Menu choices lack imagination but they are well done and adequate size. A bit pricey for Arcata but a pleasant time was had

We order oysters and steamed clams. The clams arrive first and I ask if it might make more sense to serve the raw before the cooked; the waitress doesn't get it and simoly says ' we don't want the clams to get cold'. The oysters arrive and are the most perfect kumamotos, which the kitchen has drowned in various glops... More

The small "Now Seating" sign just below the town square is what you want to see for one of the better dining experiences in the area. Here we found some chef inspired dinner menu choices that seem to reflect more Italy and less pizza and lasagna customary fare. The interior is pleasing to the eye and the wine listings are... More

Both entrees, duck & pork chop were generous and perfectly cooked, sauced. Sides of fresh greens, yummy polenta. Good service. Oh,and that tomato/basil soup was rich with real ingredients and absolutely delicious. Definitely would return if lived here.

I got there early to an almost empty restaurant to grab a bite with friends. When I turned around 40 minutes later the place was nearly full. But the waitresses never missed a beat. Service was timely, friendly and efficient. Appetizers are odd so I passed on them. The Brussels sprout offering seemed like it should be a side dish... More

Probably the best meal of our entire Norcal trip - the space is warm and cozy (yet large), and the Filet Mignon with gorgonzola creme sauce was one of the best dishes I've ever had (and I live in SF) - cooked perfectly, served hot and just unbelievably good. Great service rounded it all off... we loved this place and... More

The food is just excellent and the service is superb. At times during the year, my favorite meal is offered; lamb. The place has a wonderful atmosphere and you can enjoy a quiet, almost private relaxing meal. I believe the restaurant is only open for dinner, Wednesday through Saturday.

excellent service, fantastic Manhattans and the food exquisite! Duck with polenta, beet tops and port wine reduction was yummy. Saltimbocca over fettuccine with cream was super tasty. Will go back again!

Abruzzi has been a great, dependable, high end Italian restaurant in Arcata for many years. I worked with the owners since the 90's, setting up conferences, professional lunches and dinners and catered events. The food was always delicate, delicious...perfect! The perfect generous meal. Revisiting (after several years) with my husband one stormy night, without reservations due to our power outage,... More

The food was delicious. However I ordered from the higher end of the menu. I found the portions to be correct for a full course meal. Not too large to skip desert. Kitchen staff were funny. You can see them work. Wait staff were prompt, courteous and respectful. I would recommend to anyone looking for a romantic place. The ambiance... More
