Food is not bad, not great…not worth the price. Multiple bad experiences in the past with rudeness of the Maître d…telling us we would have to wait 45+ minutes on wait list when we had a long-standing reservation…happened not once but twice. Both times I balked as I had a reservation and he begrudgingly gave us the worst table in... More

Arcata doesn't have the same diversity and quality for dining out as many larger cities in California. But it does have a couple of really good spots. Abruzzi is one. It is a bit pricey for this area, but nothing that would scare off Bay Area diners. The food is top-notch with fresh ingredients and a new revised menu that... More

I highly recommend this restaurant! My wife and I had an intimate, romantic anniversary dinner at Abruzzi in Arcata. The restaurant is upscale but not pretentious. The waiter was helpful and formal but also friendly and down to earth. I had the filet mignon over mashed potatoes and chard. This was the best filet mignon that I have ever had!... More

After coming to this restaurant for decades, we had another disappointing meal. It is so uneven! You can have excellent food one month and then come back and get a real downer. This week our basic salads were overdressed and most of the lettuce/greens had brown ends. Unacceptable. Then they brought us an arugula salad as a substitute which was... More

My wife and I plus our daughter and son-in-law had dinner there. Nice atmosphere, quiet, with a nice menu. One of us had linguine with three kinds of seafood; its tomato sauce was really delicious! The others had pasta with pesto, risotto with mushrooms, and hot Italian sausages. These dinners were very good, but not outstanding. The spumoni ice cream... More

My granddaughter and I ate here recently. The entrance on the plaza is small; you could walk by it, if you weren't looking for it. White table cloths, good service, excellent food. What more could one ask for? We enjoyed our dinner, and I would go back.

The sea bass plated was visually outstanding! Cooked perfectly with a flavorful pasta side. Every bite provided a taste treat.

My son goes to school at HSU and every time I visit we go to Abruzzi. It is my favorite restaurant in Arcata. The pasta dishes are very good - favorites are Gnocchi when it is on the menu and the Carbonara. The meat dishes are also good. Service is always friendly and the basement atmosphere is warm and cozy.

Very nice restaurant somewhat tucked away in Arcata. Good atmosphere. Relatively quiet. Great service. Ample portions, in fact, too much. But made for good leftovers. Will return when in the area again.
