Abruzzi's is in a fine location, right on the town plaza. We had a very good, but not great, meal here. I had a pasta with sausage dish that was cooked in a cast iron skillet in the oven. It was quite tasty, but there was a little too much liquid in the bottom of the dish. My wife had... More

We were served by a waiters in training so I think it is best not to give a grade for this person in training. The waiters who was training caught most of the mistakes :) The food, the house salad was the smallest portion I have ever had, the lettuce was fresh and crispy. for the main dish I had... More

Our dining experience at Abruzzi's was was enjoyable from beginning to end.We were there on a Sunday evening,we did make reservations, but there appeared to be plenty of seating available. Our waitress did take few minutes to get to our table, but after that service was fine.I was not acquainted with the wines by the glass,so I told the waitress what I was... Went early, so few other diners and very attentive servers. Fun to watch the kitchen staff, as it is open and many flaming dishes prepared that evening. Salad was so fresh and flavorful, rock fish done vey nicely and more fresh vegetables, the oysters were superb.

Food is not bad, not great…not worth the price. Multiple bad experiences in the past with rudeness of the Maître d…telling us we would have to wait 45+ minutes on wait list when we had a long-standing reservation…happened not once but twice. Both times I balked as I had a reservation and he begrudgingly gave us the worst table in... More

Arcata doesn't have the same diversity and quality for dining out as many larger cities in California. But it does have a couple of really good spots. Abruzzi is one. It is a bit pricey for this area, but nothing that would scare off Bay Area diners. The food is top-notch with fresh ingredients and a new revised menu that... More

I highly recommend this restaurant! My wife and I had an intimate, romantic anniversary dinner at Abruzzi in Arcata. The restaurant is upscale but not pretentious. The waiter was helpful and formal but also friendly and down to earth. I had the filet mignon over mashed potatoes and chard. This was the best filet mignon that I have ever had!... More

After coming to this restaurant for decades, we had another disappointing meal. It is so uneven! You can have excellent food one month and then come back and get a real downer. This week our basic salads were overdressed and most of the lettuce/greens had brown ends. Unacceptable. Then they brought us an arugula salad as a substitute which was... More

My wife and I plus our daughter and son-in-law had dinner there. Nice atmosphere, quiet, with a nice menu. One of us had linguine with three kinds of seafood; its tomato sauce was really delicious! The others had pasta with pesto, risotto with mushrooms, and hot Italian sausages. These dinners were very good, but not outstanding. The spumoni ice cream... More
