Coffee worth the wait!

We were waiting for our son to play a baseball game and needed a snack...and we happened upon Cafe Brio. My husband and I ordered coffee and a chocolate croissant. We've been going to Cafe Brio for several years now and I love it. The food is so good, pastries are to die for and the coffee--almost perfect. On the down side, it's small and crowded and the wait can be long. My husband is completely put out by the fact that on Sundays the real breakfast doesn't start until... More

Yum! The pastries are light and flaky and buttery. Excellent coffee all freshly made. Busy spot and worth a wait. I wish I had time for the oysters or quiche they look amazing! Highly recommended.

We were too early to check in to the hotel across the plaza. We were hungry and smelled the food here. Fresh ingredients, relaxed service and atmosphere. A great place to spend time relaxing over a beverage and people watch!

Although we arrived too early for brunch on a Saturday morning they were very helpful in explaining to us Brits what we could eat in the way of a hot meal! The food was good, the coffee great. It was expensive but an experience. Obviously very popular

I went to this location and got 2 coffees and 2 cold sandwiches and spent $20. The good part was that the seating outside viewed the main town area of Arcata. The service was great !

They spend a lot of effort to get high quality products in their pastries. Sadly this means the prices are high too. But it is delicious and they take a lot of pride in what they make.

Huge variety of food, for breakfast and lunch. Famous for their amazing bread. Very busy, but with outside and inside seating.

The bakery items were delicious. The salad was large, but the pieces of lettuce were very large. My turkey mushroom and cheese sandwich was not very special. the mushrooms were tough, no special sauces. The mac and cheese was watery.

I stopped in a couple of times for a nice poached egg on site baked levain. Yum! Perfect quick breakfast on a damp Humboldt Bay morning. The coffee was good though in that slightly bitter category that many more places are moving towards, adding sugar a must for me. Waiting on line on a busy, weekday morning you sometimes end...
