High quality at a high price

They spend a lot of effort to get high quality products in their pastries. Sadly this means the prices are high too. But it is delicious and they take a lot of pride in what they make.

Although we arrived too early for brunch on a Saturday morning they were very helpful in explaining to us Brits what we could eat in the way of a hot meal! The food was good, the coffee great. It was expensive but an experience. Obviously very popular

I went to this location and got 2 coffees and 2 cold sandwiches and spent $20. The good part was that the seating outside viewed the main town area of Arcata. The service was great !

Huge variety of food, for breakfast and lunch. Famous for their amazing bread. Very busy, but with outside and inside seating.

The bakery items were delicious. The salad was large, but the pieces of lettuce were very large. My turkey mushroom and cheese sandwich was not very special. the mushrooms were tough, no special sauces. The mac and cheese was watery.

I stopped in a couple of times for a nice poached egg on site baked levain. Yum! Perfect quick breakfast on a damp Humboldt Bay morning. The coffee was good though in that slightly bitter category that many more places are moving towards, adding sugar a must for me. Waiting on line on a busy, weekday morning you sometimes end... Wonderful little French bistro. We loved everything about this little gem. Enjoyed brunch Sunday, wonderful eggs Benedict..and returned daily , So many wonderful choices , only wish we could have stayed to sample everything. Long lines to wait through each day, but oh so worth it. The wait was not that bad as everything moved along quite well.

My sister told me to visit this little bakery/coffee shop, I am so glad we did! This was our third visit as we live out of town. The almond pastries are delicious! On this trip we had to buy extra to drop off to my sister! We saw a quiche that was being served that we will try next time... More

This is where everyone goes the morning of Farmers' Market to connect with the locals. Pastries that make you drool to look at them, fresh baked goods and the area's best bread. Can sit outside in fair weather or cozy inside when it rains. Fresh coffee made to order by the baristas including all varieties, indoors or from the sidewalk... More
