I usually come into Brio for pastries and coffee. I highly recommend them as a bakery. Just had the "Classic Breakfast" - the poached eggs were tiny and over-cooked (microwaved?), burnt bacon, and dry toast. A premium price for bad food. I mean really: eggs are kind of a touch-stone dish for a cafe. They were "too busy" to talk... More

Brio is a very popular, mostly outdoor cafe. Brio makes fantastic bread. It is a great place to hang out and people watch which in Arcata is great fun. The food, however, is very average. If one wants a great place to linger over coffee and great baked goods this is the place. For a good meal I would suggest another... More

You get the best of both worlds at Cafe Brio. They have "Tartine" quality croissants and baked goods here but without the price. It seemed that everyone in the place knew each other and so we felt like part of the Arcata community. Lovely seating outside looks over the town square. Highly recommend.

and great great food as well. It's one if the best bakeries in town and both sweet and savory are really good. Great coffee and fabulous teas. One of my favorite places on the plaza!

We took an afternoon break to enjoy a delicious cappuccino with an equally delicious sticky bun. Our grandson age two and a half didn't care for his eclair, instead choosing to dip bread in his milk. We all enjoyed the baggette and even purchased 2 to take home with us for later dining.

Awesome Blue Bottle coffee, delicious pastries (sticky buns are the best) and breakfasts! A great place to watch people any day of the week! There is often a line, but it is worth it.

I actually had a friend from Vancouver write to me specifically to ask if I had ever had Brio's chicken pot pie. They will probably come back if only for that. Cafe Brio has wonderful lunches, everything from pre-made sandwiches which transport you to France without the jetlag. One of my favorites is poached eggs, croissant, and salad. Another: macaroni... Curious as to why people come here, I stopped in for a 8oz americano...it cost a buck more than the one I drank earlier at another local cafe, (and the other place tasted much better). The indoor seating at Brio is tiny, noisy and uncomfortable, I sat outside and the intersection a few feet away provided booming car stereos, and... More

This yummy restaurant is on the corner of the dowtown Arcata square. It is small and cramped. There was a bit of a line and the seating was scarce. BUT the food was delicious and not your typical cafe fare. I had an incredible salad with farro beans (never heard of them before), sliced persimmons, goat cheese, spinach and dried... More

The best sticky buns in the world!! I'm addicted, no foolin'. Mostly, I get pastries to go because they make their coffee one cup at a time and usually, I'm in a hurry to eat my sticky bun.
