Worth the Drive and Worth the Wait

Went there on a Sunday, 10 minutes before opening. Boy we thought we were early, but the line was long already. We did not get in for the first seating, so we ended up waiting about 35 minutes for the 2nd seating. We were told by the hostess its 2nd restaurant behind set to open 30 minutes... read more

My son kept telling me about this place and said I had to eat there when I return to the LA area. I tried to ignore him, thinking to myself "I am not going to eat dumplings as a meal". Well, at last I went and I was proven wrong. I am glad I did and very glad I was... More

I used to travel to Asia four or so times a year for work. In making the trek for well over a decade, I ate in every imaginable style of Chinese restaurant that there is. I have had food from street carts where they washed the dishes in plastic tubs on the sidewalk. I’ve eaten at banquets hosted by wealthy... More

After years of reading the great reviews we finally visited din tai fung in Arcadia. We didn't have enough time to eat in, so we ordered an array of dumplings and soup broth to go. The hostess and to-go order taker couldn't have been more gracious to us. They sat us down and brought us tea, then chatted with us... More

We stayed in Pasadena and had so many Dim Sum place to try and not enough days. This was my husband's favorite and high on my list also. My all time favorite are the half veg and half pork shrimp wontons in spicy sauce. Heaven in a bowl, I could eat two. Husband's favorite soup dumplings! I won't say not... More

Din Tai Fung has always been my favorite place in Taiwan. While we were visiting LA, pleasantly surprised to find it in U.S. to enjoy it with my family. We ordered the juicy steam bao, fried rice, fried noodle, garlic string beans. All are absolutely delicious. Must do if you are in the area and like traditional Chinese dishes.

We recently went to Din Tai Fung while visiting a friend in Pasadena. He ordered a wide variety of dumpling and vegetable dishes, each one of which was better than the one before. The dumplings were fresh and juicy, with the skins cooked to just the right level of chewiness. I'm not familiar with other restaurants in Arcadia, which is... More

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants. I wish we had one on the East Coast. Their dumplings are easily the best out there. My go to are the juicy pork dumplings, sautéed string bean with garlic and the spicy cucumbers to start. The house chicken soup with noodles and rice and pork shao mai are also out... More

I love this place but it's just a hassle to wait. Since I live nearby I usually order to go or go right when they open. There is two location so you can check which location has less waiting time. I recommend the fish & veggie dumpling, pork chop fried rice, and beef noodles soup. There is also lots of... More
