This used to be one of my favorite restaurants - I love the seafood with the Pacaific coastal fusion tastes whether that be the ceviche tostadas, seared ahi or amazing seafood salads. This was our go-to place when we had out-of-towners come to visit. Cocktails on the deck with the sunset are delightful. Our visit last month was off, but... More

The refried beans were too watery and not much taste. The rice was average and the salad was...a salad...ranch dressing was average. The guacamole was what I liked the best. It does have some ocean view...open and airy feel.

Very nice restaurant - tropical/vacationy feel. Fun bar with a good happy hour. Not my absolute favorite mexican food, it's good, but the service (continuous chips & fantastic salsa), atmosphere, and views make up for it!

You can find all your typical Mexican restaurant food favorites but in addition there is a large selection of outstanding seafood dishes on the menu! Authentic traditional dishes of fish, shellfish and sauces of the coasts of Mexico and California. The foundation of their food is freshly made sauces, handmade corn tortillas, and fresh local seafood and produce. Best margaritas... More

We've been in Aptos forever, and while there are a number of yummy restaurants in town, this is my favorite place for Mexican food. One of the trickiest parts of this place is not filling up on chips and salsa before the meal comes. They are so tasty! I can't say that we've tried everything here because we haven't, but... More

As usual I order their chef's special seafood, whatever, This time it was Ono and caesar salad. Disappointed. Wife had fajita which she said was very good.

Yes, this restaurant has resort type pricing, but, the pluses outweigh the fact. Palalpas features lovely ocean vistas through the trees. The menu features freshly prepared food with bright, home made flavors. Water & chips with salsa are offered, not automatically delivered. Both were excellent. Plates arrive with a 1/2 cup dollop of multi colored salsa fresca, & a 1//2... More

The food is great and not too spicy. The kids ate free. The servers were young but going somewhere, like college when they graduate high school.

Palapas Restaurant is rated 3 stars in the AAA Guide for Northern California, the highest rating for an ethnic food restaurant. The quality of the food is about decent, but nowhere near the expectation set by such a high rating. Nothing worth mentioning other than the house made chips and salsa.

Palapas is a consistently good restaurant with quality, well-prepared food, nice atmosphere, and friendly service. I met a friend there for lunch, and we will go back there for lunch this month.
