This place was recommended to us by a fellow guest at Capitola's Monarch Cove Inn. I reserved a table for two at 7 PM on a Sunday. Dinner was delightful. Very charming restaurant with a French country feel. Our server, August was helpful and attentive and although I found the reduction on my venison a tad sweet for my liking,... More

Great food, lovely atmosphere, nice service, it's all good. Every night is a different prix fix 3 course dinner, I always go on Friday for the saffron based bouillabaisse, it's to die for. The salads are awesome and wine list is perfect. I love this place.

Visited Cafe Sparrow for a Saturday night dinner with reservations (almost a must on weekends). It was busy but we were seated promptly and well taken care of by the friendly staff. The chef came by to say hello right after we were seated and brought some tasty complementary appetizers one of which is like a toasted cheddar cracker, the... More

We discovered Sparrow Cafe quite by accident while staying in Aptos. We arrived on a Sunday just in time for brunch. The menu featured some great breakfast favorites with a touch of French Country elegance. We elected to go with one of the specials using fresh salmon. Two thumbs up!

Lunch here today with girlfriends to celebrate my retirement. Seated in the "downstairs" by the window. Nice bright room, A little warm with the sun coming in the uncovered window. Lovely menu and specials available. We ordered: Crab Cake Salad, Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, Ruben Sandwich's and a Chicken Sandwich (don't remember it's name). Raves all around except from me.... More

Didn't expect anything extraordinary when walking in for a Sunday breakfast... But we were overwhelmed by the hyper-attentive, young, friendly wait-staff. But it gets better: the food was beyond wonderful! Very tasty, sometimes in surprising ways, with nice-sized portions and pretty presentations. Did I forget to say the service was excellent? BTW, possibly the best pancakes that I ever tasted!

The menu includes all kinds of unique dishes, especially the chicken and the lamb chops. Service is always excellent and the ambiance is quiet and elegant without being snooty. The wine list is extensive but VERY pricey. We tend to avoid dropping huge amounts on bottles of wine that we can get at the store for half the cost. But... More

The food's probably good, but I was freezing to death. A friend really likes the place, and whenever she's in town, suggests we go there. She's inviting, so I accept, but it's so cold, and nothing on the menu is hot, or at least, isn't served hot, that I've never really enjoyed lunching there. She lives in a place where... More

I took 19 ladies from my local garden club for our holiday luncheon to cafe sparrow. Very accommodating waitstaff and very attentive. Luncheon choices were great..salad especially tasty. Dessert of warm bread pudding had us at WOW. Quaint setting for a cozy meal with friends. A day to remember.....
