This is a very casual restaurant where you order in front and your food is brought to your table. We sat at one in front of the window looking out at the street. The window was greasy and the table was not clean. We had a two year old with us and the high chair was encrusted with grime. The... More

We have visited the area several times but had never stopped in Angles Camp before. The front desk staff at our hotel recommended Sidewinders and the name alone intrigued us enough to check it out. The ambiance was wonderfully historic gold country! There were couples, families, & mixed groups, 20-somethings and middle-agers, when we were there and they all seemed... More

This place is in an awesome building in historic Angels Camp. I had been lukewarm to the food on my previous two visits. Today I tried the meatball soup with warm cornbread. I thought it was great and had just a little "kick." I would definitely order it again. I will now give the fusion style Mexican dishes another try.... More

We were visiting on a Tuesday, which meant that many of the dining options were closed. So, I was especially pleased to find that this choice was so good. The woman behind the counter at the local thrift store described this as a Mexican restaurant, but it is not your typical Mexican fare. They describe themselves as a Cal-Mex fusion,... More

We popped in this little cafe for lunch on our way to Sonora. There were four of us and we all had something different but each of us thought our selection was the best. It was attractively presented on the plate and delivered to our table by a cute little waitress. While we were there, the cook came out to... More

I had a bacon salad with dates, mixed greens in a maple vinaigrette, and my husband had a shredded beef burrito. Everything was fresh and flavorful and reasonably priced. We stopped here on the way from Yosemite to Tahoe. Such a cute old mining town...well preserved.

My husband and I own and operate a 5-star luxury bed and breakfast in Sonora and pay a lot of attention to detail in our business. We usually dine in Murphys when we get a free second, but this time we were passing through Angels Camp and decided to try Sidewinders. We are so thrilled that we did! We sampled... More

The owners must have listened to the complaints and have returned to their delicious salads. Great place to have a fresh salad/taco. Only recommendation would be to have more wine selections.....not everyone likes to have a beer.

The place is located in a historic building which lends charm to eating here. It is somewhat like Chipotle's where you order at the counter and the food is Mexican style. My husband and I both ordered their burritos but with different meat filling. They were quite large...I couldn't eat all of mine. We also ordered Beer Battered Fries that... More
