The place is big and cosy. The food is average but the portions are big. The servers are polite and friendly.

Why is it this place is never good. the food is commercialy, salty, and expensive. If you like Italian, try anywhere else.
My wife and I decide to have a Sunday lunch at this location. First thing that we noticed was that it was empty. All the other places we wanted to go had a thirty to forty-five minute wait. This place at the time (1pm) had only four tables occupied. My wife ordered the lower ravioli and mid way she stopped... More
My husband and I really wanted to like this restaurant, they've got wine (!) and it's walking distance from our home. We had our dog with us so I went inside to ask if she was alright on the patio, to that the hostess enthusiastically assured us that our pooch was welcome which is great for us, because, like I... I eat in Macaroni Grill since 1996, still the same but I think people used to come here more in the past. I think they need to reboot alot of things here, not saying that food is not tasty though.
We frequently eat at Romano's Macaroni Grill in Aliso Viejo because it is open all afternoon, and the quality, cleanliness, and service are reliably very good. We also like the simple decor and atmosphere. Their signature rosemary bread loaf is quite delicious, and we always look forward to seeing how a new wait person writes his or her name upside... More
Our server was one of the best. He was very attentive, knowledgable, and patient. The greeters were friendly and made you feel welcomed. The facility is very clean and a little off the beaten path. The well landscaped grounds are like being in a park Two excellent food items were the complementary bread and the Chicken Florentine Salad. However, we... More
We stopped for a family dinner at the Macaroni Grill here in Aliso Viejo. This place is similar to the one near our home in NJ. When you are seat and ordered, the fresh bread arrives hot from the oven and with a coating of butter and oil. It is always a great way to start a meal. The bread... More
I Placed a "to go order" and it was ready in timely manner. The gentlemen who took my order was very efficient and extremely knowledgeable about all menu items. I was very pleased that they packed all of my to go order in a neat manner, offered me bread & all the fixings to go. Great location and awesome service.
The food and service were good, and the singer was sweet...but as we entered, there was a peculiar sewer smell around the back of the parking lot...inside was fine until the end of our dessert when that horrible odor wafted overwhelming around our table near the kitchen...spoiled our evening and we had to hurry to leave.
