A brake for lunch time

In the middle of Aliso Viejo shopping area you find an Opah restaurant. Great lunch menu and excellence in service. The Cesar salad with calamari is a winner! I can only review lunch time as haven't been at dinner time.

We came here for my birthday lunch, I had the prime rib sandwich and salad and it was very good and filling. I will come back just for that item. My husband had the burger and fries which he said was bland and nothing special but we did both have two drinks each and they weren't very good at all.... More

My hubby and I were huge fans of Opah in Irvine. Unfortunately, that location closed January 1, 2014. We've driven to the Aliso Viejo location a few times, with great reception. Our usual waitress is there, and she gives us the royal treatment. The manager recognizes us from the Irvine and has sent appetizers and desserts... so yummy. But sadly,... More

From the lighting fixtures to the pebble holding your napkin in place this restaurant is unique. We went for "Happy Hour" which is $1 off the wine list, $2 off other drinks and appetizers. Nice wine list and the food was tasty. We ordered the sweet potato tower which were breaded round slices on a skewer with a delicious dip.... More

three of us for dinner, Opah is a large restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. If you get there before 6:30 pm, they still have Happy Hour prices on drinks and appetizers. Lots of choices for starters and seafood. My daughter had the Cioppino, which she enjoyed thoroughly, full of scallops, calamari, fish and lobster. it is a lot of... More

I ordered a caesar with salmon. The cost was $25. I have had better salads else where for around $15. The taste was good but I will go elsewhere for a better value.

Opah, one of chef Marc Cohen's restaurants in the region (the others are 230 Forest Ave. and Watermarc in Laguna Beach), is one of my favorite restaurants. I go there for both lunch and dinner, and when entertaining special guests from out of town. I always start with the Bacon Wrapped Dates. They are sweet, they are savory, they have... More

I enjoyed my visit to Opah. The service was excellent and it was nice to be able to sit outside. The food was good as well - there's no chance of getting the burger that they serve in your mouth (big and tasty). The fish was good as well. All in all, well worth looking at for lunch.
