Before I tell you a place to go for Bay Area Hamburgers, I must explain the concept to you. WHAT is a HAMBURGER? So thrilled to have found a good small burger option. It's just like the big cheeseburger except smaller so I can eat the whole thing without feeling too stuffed. Good spot.

Al's burgers are very good, simple, old-school fare. Kind of the antithesis of Elevation 66 down the street, but each have their place.

This is the classic small burger place. It's very similar to Fosters Freeze, A&W, Dairy Queen, etc. etc. - the best thing about eating here instead of those places is that you're supporting a small local business!
