My sister took me to Meal Ticket while I'm visiting and I'm intrigued of their specials they serve each day. I had a egg scramble with salmon, goat cheese and chives with a baguette with homemade strawberry jam and homefries and that is really the most delicious breakfast ever! I'm coming down there again for homestyle cooking in California!

This place is a little different. It is only open for breakfast and lunch. You order and pay for your food and then it is brought to your table. I usually go for lunch and often have one of the specials. I like the self-serve coffee. I like the salmon and the oyster po' boy if I am feeling reckless.

Nice informal mom and pop place with a gourmet edge. My fresh salmon burger was wonderfully seasoned, well cooked, and accompanied by tasty potato salad and a few greens, tomatoes and onions. The toasted bun maintained its firm texture, didn't get all gloppy. One member of our party got some pulled pork cooked in coconut milk and spices along with... More

Food we ordered: corned beef hash & baguette with eggs/ham were ok. Service was friendly and fast. Cost was appropriate. Place is clean and not too crowded for a Sunday morning. Will we go back? Maybe. It was on my list of must-try-when-in-bay-area courtesy of triple-D so it's marked as been-there. Didn't make it to 'must come back' list.

Cash only so don't forget to stop at the ATM on the way. Owned and run by a couple (He cooks and she seems to do everything else). One can count on a lovely meal, nicely prepared and in a friendly, eclectic atmosphere.

Meal Ticket is a true mom-and-pop, locally-owned restaurant/diner. Its casual atmosphere, like their food, is comforting and you feel as if you are at a friend's house, rather than at a restaurant. Meal Ticket is a great place for breakfast. I highly recommend the chorizo scramble: it's delicious and filling and very well done. Behind the restaurant is a nice... More

Nice atmosphere with seating indoors or in a nice sunny veranda. Food is usually excellent but not always. I tried the buckwheat pancakes twice and was served excellent slightly cakes one time and a soggy undercooked mess the second time. I mentioned this to the server and she offered to take them back to cook them some more but they... More

The restaurant is on a well-traveled street and a bit hard to find. It offers simple but well-prepared and very reasonably priced menu, including daily specials on on a blackboard, plus a regular menu. My wife, two sons, and I ate lunch there: each of us tried a different special and shared samples from each order -- they were, each... More

We really didn't know what to expect when we arrived at the Meal Ticket. From the outside, it didn't look like anything special and the decor inside was OK but not spectacular. The tip off to the quality was the number of diners present for breakfast. A problem is that the menu is quite big and varied and you have... More
