Excellent Lunch in a Surprising Location

Our Honda service person recommended this restaurant while our car was being repaired. It happened to be closed on that Tuesday, but we stopped by a few weeks later for a late lunch. The patio was pleasant, the servers were friendly, and the food was fabulous. The po'boy is really an open faced... read more

Meal Ticket is a great place to go on weekends for a tasty meal that will fuel you for what you need to do. The salmon filet and eggs is my go-to breakfast, and I find myself craving it long before the weekend comes. I always recommend this to out-of-towners because the wait is never too too long and the... More

Had a great breakfast the other day. Pork curry with scrambled eggs and salsa with tortillas. Friends had pancakes and a salad. Really enjoyed it. Quiet inside once you get in. Service is by ordering at the counter and taking a number for your table and the food is delivered. Coffee etc., on a table agains the wall. Clearly would... More

When the weather's good, the back outside area is the best. Order inside and take a number. The husband does the cooking while the wife takes the orders. She can be cranky on the weekends because it gets very busy - goes from small local restaurant to overrun with crowds. But the dishes are great. Maybe time to expand.

I am so lucky to live near Meal Ticket. The oyster po' boy is to die for - a crusty hunk of bread, pile of succulent fried oysters, and some perfect slaw. Also their scrambles and hearty lunches are delicious too. Warm vibe inside and out on the lovely back patio. Never too crowded. The only bummer is sometimes they... More

My sister took me to Meal Ticket while I'm visiting and I'm intrigued of their specials they serve each day. I had a egg scramble with salmon, goat cheese and chives with a baguette with homemade strawberry jam and homefries and that is really the most delicious breakfast ever! I'm coming down there again for homestyle cooking in California!

This place is a little different. It is only open for breakfast and lunch. You order and pay for your food and then it is brought to your table. I usually go for lunch and often have one of the specials. I like the self-serve coffee. I like the salmon and the oyster po' boy if I am feeling reckless.

Nice informal mom and pop place with a gourmet edge. My fresh salmon burger was wonderfully seasoned, well cooked, and accompanied by tasty potato salad and a few greens, tomatoes and onions. The toasted bun maintained its firm texture, didn't get all gloppy. One member of our party got some pulled pork cooked in coconut milk and spices along with... More

Food we ordered: corned beef hash & baguette with eggs/ham were ok. Service was friendly and fast. Cost was appropriate. Place is clean and not too crowded for a Sunday morning. Will we go back? Maybe. It was on my list of must-try-when-in-bay-area courtesy of triple-D so it's marked as been-there. Didn't make it to 'must come back' list.

Cash only so don't forget to stop at the ATM on the way. Owned and run by a couple (He cooks and she seems to do everything else). One can count on a lovely meal, nicely prepared and in a friendly, eclectic atmosphere.
