It is expensive, but all the food is locally produced and sustainable! Try the chocolate mousse. The staff are very friendly and caring!

Our friends introduced us to Mangia Mangia in Albany, California. This Italian "ristorante e café" is "a diamond in the rough." One can drive by it without paying any attention and its interior decor is not particularly memorable--the word "simple" comes to mind. However, as they say, "Never judge a book by its cover." The cuisine (and it is just... More

We go back to Mangia Mangia not only because we enjoy eating a local, unique places but also because the food is so good! The food is well-prepared and presented. Come early if you want the soup du jour as they often run out and their soups are tasty and delicious. The salad was tasty (baby greens with warm goat... More

I've eaten here several times in the past and it always is warm and friendly. The menu selections seem to fit anyone's pallat. The prices are very reasonable. The all female chefs really know how to cook with a old country flair.

We really enjoyed our dinner. It was late - 8:15 and we were seated immediately. The soup of the day must have been really good because it was gone by the time we got there're but the fresh tomato/mushroom was even better. The arugula and goat cheese salad was fresh. Best of all was the veal dish we had as... More

Great Italian food in a local setting - blink and you'll miss the restaurant as you are driving up San Pablo (just north of Solano). Parking is on the street and behind in the lot by Merchant's Bank (after hours). The service and attention was excellent though I have to say the matriarch (I believe) was a bit brusque since... Need a place for a romantic dinner or a picky visitor? If so, this is the place to take them! The kitchen is near the front and the smell of roasting garlic fills the air. Yum! Go early, as they sold out of the lobster bisque by the time we arrived. We splurged and had their chocolate souffle for dessert.... More

I had New Year's Eve dinner here with 4 friends. We were seated right away, and immediately greeted by our waiter. We ordered cornish hen with sausage, braised scallops, beet salad, and gnocchi, then shared a chocolate soufflé and a tiramisu between us. The service was gracious and attentive, and all the food was delicious.

A pleasant, small, neighborhood Italian restaurant on San Pablo near Solano. The food is good, and you can watch it being cooked in the open kitchen near the front of the restaurant.

Mangia Mangia is just a great friendly place to visit. The owners seem to know all of their visitors which makes this place seem like you are visiting someone's home. The menu is great, you can take your time and enjoy the food, and then they will surprise you with great desserts. Only in the Bay Area would you see... More
