Best Thai food in Berkeley/Albany area!

There are plenty of Thai restaurants in the Bay Area, but if you are in Berkeley/Albany, this is the place to go. The servings are generous, beautiful presentation, and delicious and fresh dishes. Try the dish of the day. You will not be disappointed.

There are only 2 authentic Thai restaurants in the Bay Area (the original Marnee and Lers Ros, both in SF.) But White Lotus is the closest you will come to real Thai food in the East Bay. Be specific and ask for server's advice, specify your degree of peppery heat, and she will give you exactly what you want from... More

I've been to the White Lotus restaurant about 4 times in the last year ; each time the food never disappoints. Their delicious Thai salads and curries come in a generous serving, and is beautifully presented. The service is great, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is peaceful.

Having lived in Bangkok and spent quite a bit of time in Thailand I consider myself to be somewhat of an "authority" on authentic Thai cuisine. While some dishes vary in terms of genuine Thai authenticity, (not too Americanized) these people deliver the goods at reasonable prices. To their credit, they are NOT afraid to dish it up super hot... More

I went with 5 other folks. They had the Lamb, Chicken Satay, Prawn salad, and as always, I had the Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was about 3 1/3 stars, not the best I've had, but somewhere between fair and good. The Chicken Satay came with a sticky rice that was quite tasty. Lotus also serves a brown jasmine rice... More

Every visit to White Lotus, with its fresh, authentic ingredients and beautiful presentation makes it a meal to remember. Be sure to ask if you want the curries toned down or something special. They are very accommodating. One would expect to pay a lot more for such plentiful and freshly prepared dishes. We're astounded at how reasonable this place is.... More

Food to remember not only in the brain and eyes (restaurant is run by two women), but definitely for the taste. Often spicy-hot food covers the taste, but not in the case of White Lotus. It is the "French Cuisine of Asia" the BEST. I cannot think not to go there at least ones a week and they have 77... More

We loved this restaurant at first bite. Actually, a little before that, when we met the people running the place. We felt very welcomed, and every need was met almost before we thought of it. The food was considerably out of the ordinary - each dish beautifully presented and dissimilar from the others in taste. We feel we'd lucked into... More
