When you dine at the Pasta Pelican, part of the deal is to enjoy the view of the Alameda/Oakland estuary and on a Sunday afternoon, watching the boats going by is to view a constant parade of people I sometimes wish we could emulate, if only we had a sailboat. This place begins the service with bread, really good bread,... More

My friend and I stopped here mainly for drinks but the bar was closed for a private party so we settled down in the main dining room. I didn't feel like I was dressed appropriately for this part of the restaurant but relaxed soon enough. Since we hadn't planned on a full meal we decided to just enjoy appetizers. I... More

The restaurant seems to be a little bit less of an Italian restaurant than it used to be due to menu changes and food characteristics. Not sure whether we will return since we know of better options for similar food. Service was good and prompt, the water views, noise level, and space are a big plus.

Best Italian restaurant in Alameda . I love seating with the view of the Marina and watch the boats go by. We ordered calamari-nothing to brag about; warm bread is served as soon we were seated; I ordered POLLO E SPINACIO - Chicken, spinash, mushroom, sun dried tomatoes in a creamy curry sauce tossed with fettuccine-it was what i expected;... I took my parents there for dinner and they enjoyed the waterfront view and live music. Food is good for the price and wait staff is courteous.

I first went to this restaurant 35 years ago when my wife and I were still dating. At that time it was the Rusty Scupper and served seafood as it fare. It has since been through several reiterations as a restaurant and is now the Pasta Pelican. Unfortunately the owner seem to feel no need to change the decor or... More

I did not know about this out of the way restaurant on the water over-looking Jack London Square until a local took me there. My research indicated that the restaurant got very mixed reviews so I did not know what to expect. We wanted to sit upstairs but unfortunately there was an event so that we were limited to the...
