Rudy is a very good bartender and all round nice fellow. Hadie, the owner always goes out of his way to make us comfortable. Bob and Linda
This is a beautiful setting on the Oakland/Alameda estuary. The night time is spectacular with the lights from boats blinking in the distance. Great food and very responsive staff. We have asked for specialty combinations and the chef is always willing to accomodate.
I love the ambience and the view of the Oakland skyline and docks are beautiful. Try the fried calamari. This dish is my favorite. Held my wife's 50th Birthday party here. They have an upstairs that can cater to larger groups. Parking is okay.
While we found the cuisine here not outstanding but acceptable the overall experience was good. The location is great and it's probably a good idea to call ahead for a reservation to have a table next to the estuary. At night the estuary is magical. I had a seafood pasta dish which was good but my wife did not enjoy... More
Location by the water is good. Lots of parking space. Food and prices were fair. Good selection for appetizers. Service needs improvement. We made reservations and got there on time but still had to wait about 25 minutes for our table. Servers were stingy on the bread. We were a party of 4 but they only gave us 3 pieces... More
There is a nice view and the food is great, but if you have to wait for a seat never trust the time given. They always say 15-20 minutes. Every time I have been there and had to wait it was more like 30-45 minutes.
Usually we get takeout but the couple times we've eaten in it was pleasant experience. Even with takeout the pasta was still hot when we got it home, and their Caesar salad is to die for when they serve it on the whole leaves of endive. Once their alfredo was not quite up to par but eating there after that... More
If you like to eat at a very nice Italian style restaurant with nice water views you can try Pasta Pelican. The food is very good and there is an extensive wine list to choose your favorites from. The neighborhood is being built up but once inside you would never know it as its very quiet except for Friday evenings... More
Nice setting overlooking the Oakland/Alameda estuary. The service is prompt and the menu offers many choices at attractive prices. We like many of the pasta dishes and they also have good beef and fish items. We usually bring our own wine as the corkage is quite reasonable. The atmosphere is very casual and we never have felt rushed.
When you dine at the Pasta Pelican, part of the deal is to enjoy the view of the Alameda/Oakland estuary and on a Sunday afternoon, watching the boats going by is to view a constant parade of people I sometimes wish we could emulate, if only we had a sailboat. This place begins the service with bread, really good bread,... More
