This place is very popular, but I don't know why. Its an old style diner, which serves some big plates, but the food was disappointing. I would go somewhere else, unless you are just into big portions.

There were a lot of flies and the bacon was too fatty and they need better sausage and my mocha was way to strong but overall just another diner

Great local spot for Breakfast, lines can go out the door. Also good for value priced lunch and dinner.

I wish I could split the ratings - 5 stars for brunch, 3 for lunch and dinner. We arrive and are greeted warmly by the maitre d', who knows us, for we've come here for twenty years. I look over the menu carefully and choose what I always choose: Special #6, french toast and country sausages. My wife always finds... More

Jim's Coffee Shop is the favorite haunt of Spicy friend of ours. When we moved to Alameda Jim's was the first place he mentioned (in a way that sounded like a claim, so we waited to visit until Spicy could join us). Jim's does the whole diner thing well, from the good prices to the very tasty food to the... More

This place is a staple for me. Love the stuffed French toast, pancakes and omelets. Come early on the weekends for no waiting. But, if you have to wait, it is worth it.

We've been coming to Jim's for years and they have great service, big portions and tasty comfort food plus their menu is huge! So many choices to eat and I love their breakfasts! Try to get here early on Sundays though as it can get crowded on Raider Sunday!

A Webster Street staple for decades... another good Alameda Diner. A half dozen tables, couple outside when weather is nice, counter seating. Very small, but the food is really good, especially breakfast.

If you're looking for a place to eat with food that tastes like you made it yourself then stop by Jim's. Plenty of parking behind the restaurant with friendly staff and good food.

We ended up at Jim's after viewing a very long line at the Waffle House on a Sunday am and venturing to ask a local cop for an alternative recommendation. Since one of us wanted lunch and one wanted breakfast; he said our best bet was Jim's. We sat at the bar and watched the Italy v Mexico soccer game... More
