A fun night out

The tiki bar theme is really fun and well done. The waitresses are very friendly. The drinks are good. Don't expect much from the food, but you don't really go to a tiki bar for the food. Been here 10 times. Great vibe. What kills I repete kills this place is the bartenders. Horrible. Angry birds and as colorful. They only are nice to each other. Strange culture no exaggeration. Bar backs are grat. Tenders need help. Try you will see. No eye contact or smile. Sorry i busy. Come if your liberal. Sad

Came here with a friend that is local and what a great place! Cocktail menu is huge and everything looks amazing. I tried the Monkeypod and Rose Sazarac....delicious! Atmosphere is super cool and folks are friendly. There is also a patio area in the back.

The expansive cocktail menu is pretty well-rounded and of course being a full bar, they can make you your favorites as well if you're not in the mood for a tropical drink. Love the decor, the patio, the dog-friendly aspect but so, so not impressed with the appetizers which seems to be the only food they serve. If they went... More

We visited this tiki bar with out of town friends who knew about it and wanted to try it. It is a very cute bar with very good drinks and very little food. The decor is vintage tiki bar with some booths decked out like tiki huts, we loved it. The drink menu is mostly rum based drinks, but the... More

This little drinkery was recommended to me as a hipster hangout... I didn't see any hipsters there but I did enjoy some tasty rum based drinks. I think my favorite was Jet Fighter. I ordered guac and chips... the guac was fine but the chips most certainly came out of a 50lb bag and tasted like it. The bartender was... More

Forbidden Island was having their annual parking lot sale when I was going to be out in SF for business. I decided to make a go of this and had a great time. I even ran into people I knew from the tiki scene and then met new people to talk with. The drinks are excellent (I had a Vic... More

This place even SMELLs like vacation when you walk inside. I've been dropping in at Forbidden Island since it first opened several years ago. I love the vibe inside, the clever and tasty drinks, the retro music and old tropical movies (no sound) on the TV monitor, and the babbling pond too. The last time I went there, it was... More

Small little FREAKING AWESOME Tiki bar! Decorated super cute. Great tiki drinks. Great tiki cups, and other glassware as well. Always great drinks and a good time. Only bad thing about this place is that finding somewhere to sit can often be difficult. And you have to leave. That, too.
