This very popular restaurant serves some of the best Asian food in the Bay Area. We shared the tea leaf salad--an interesting blend of flavors. The lamb curry was excellent as was the duck noodle bowl. Very good and reasonably priced wine list. We would go out of our way to have a meal here again.

Had the pork curry and mango salad on their lunch menu. Quite flavorful, especially the mango salad. would have preferred for the pork curry to have a little more heat in it. Wife had the tea leaf salad with samusa soup. i had a little of the samusa soup and liked it too. Difficult to get table during dinner.

Burma Superstar is justly famous for it's Rainbow Salad (and its tealeaf salad, but I prefer the rainbow) but everything I've tried here is excellent and interesting, sitting at the cusp of chinese/thai/northern indian cuisine. And unlike the two locations in San Francisco, the wait for a table at the Alameda location is seldom more than 15 minutes, and 90%... More

Came here at the recommendation of a friend. We had to wait a bit for a table, but it was very much worth it. We over ordered thinking we'd have leftovers for the next day....hardly! Everything we ordered was delicious. Favorites were the vegetarian lettuce cups and the Rainbow salad. Wish we lived closer! Also a note about the young... More

We got there near closing. Host was very gracious and food was as fresh as when a place first opens even though they were closing. Great fermented tea leaf salad. Ginger tea. Scrumptious. Cute place. Full bar.

I understand it is a small chain but the local branch is up to its billing and a go to destination. Issues are that there's usually a waiting line out front anywhere near dinner hours and the last time I checked they don't deliver. But takeout is available. Really like the orange beef

I have always wanted to eat at this place, and with a layover in Oakland seized the opportunity, so worth it! For starters, downtown Alameda what a surprise! Waited a few minutes and was seated at the counter. The staff was so friendly and expertly guided me thru the menu. The food could not have been better. The Rainbow Salad... More
