Burmese Tea Salad

If you want to try something out of the ordinary, the tea salad is the way to go. It is delicious, and big enough to split should you want anything else on the menu. All the food is excellent. First time to dine at this restaurant. Came with a friend who is a regular at this restaurant. He tried almost three quarters of food listed on the menu. He recommended that I should try Tea Leaf Salad and we each pick one dish to share. He chose Superstar Shrimps and I chose Chili Lamb (which he hasn't tried yet).... More

The food is exquisite. However, the service is only average. The tea leaf salad is exceptional. The lettuce was frsesh and crisp with exotic herbs. It is perfect as a main or side dish. It is so refreshing!

We were looking for a lunch place while we were in town. This restaurant came up as #1 in Alameda, so we thought we would try it. The restaurant is a little difficult to find. Their sign outside is very small and faded. Once located, there was a sign-in clipboard on the door to write your name and phone number... More

This place is always crowded! The place is pretty small and always has a wait during lunch and dinner hours, but it's because they serve great, unique food you won't just find anywhere. I haven't had anything bad here! I love all their noodle dishes, and my boyfriend and I love their sweet walnut prawns with coconut rice! Come early,... More

Delicious, the green tea salad is simply tasteful. The flavour of spices in their meals are blended perfectly. I was with a group,of friends, we all shared each other's meals, so I can pinpoint on one specific meal. Would highly recommend this restaurant. I love it so much, we even ate at the San Francisco location.

The vibe is always young, active, and very much the most popular place to eat in downtown Alameda. They do not take reservations, so check in, leave your cell, and go for a stroll (next door is ice cream). They serve wine, but no hard alcohol. The food...the food is incredible! Who knew Burmese food was the superstar of all... More

I love nearly everything I've tried at Burma Superstar including the drinks and rice! You must try the Coconut Rice and Thai Ice Tea (or hot mint & lemon tea or fresh coconut water iut of the coconut ). I also believe that everyone ought to try the Rainbow Salad and the Tea Leaf Salad. In my experience you will... More

I've been to this rest multiple times-- never disappoints. Good SALADs (Green tea leaf salad flavors dance in your mouth), good portions. My guests (and my tummy) are always happy. Good service too. Reasonable price. What else can you ask for? (Oh yes, bigger place so you do not have to wait in line :-)
