Fun for a Saturday brunch

Four of us went for Saturday brunch, having booked about 2 weeks in advance. Our table was ready (not always the case around these parts) and the hostess was genuinely welcoming and professional. Two of us had the steak sandwich with wedges (those wedges were very crispy and tasty), the third had... read more

The old place isn't a restaurant, its an icon. Steamed clams, steak, chicken pot pie, Nick keeps on serving up the best food for miles around. The old wooden 'saloon' building dates back to the era of the movie stars and today you are just as likely to rub shoulders with Kim Basinger next to your next door neighbour. ******... More

Lots of not the best food, but it's more of a unique experience. Make sure to stop by the wine tasting venue next door, and be sure to make a reservation!

Funky old place in a country setting adjacent to a wine bar serving a variety of interesting , delicious, special breakfasts and dinners. Not your typical menu. Cowboy ambience. Good, friendly service where they treat you like locals. Not cheap but not too expensive. Well worth the price for the food and the experience.

It’s a real shame that we had almost 10 years of great experiences here, but after this morning’s experience we will NEVER come back. The manager of this restaurant is horrible, unprofessional and she has no place in the “hospitality industry” because she does not make you feel welcome. I had raved about this place for years to my friends,... More

I love this restaurant. They have the best food you can imagine. Just just the bread at the beginning is enough to fill youstarting off with the sourdough bread is a tree I could go home after the bread it's divine. If you ever get the chance to have bone marrow it will blow your mind. The ribeye steak is... More

Fun place to have steaks in a somewhat western setting. Very rustic looking but fits the charm of old Calabasas. Consistently good food and service. Nothing fancy at reasonable prices. Large portions you can easily share

I was there for lunch around 2 pm on Sunday and seating was difficult. I waited over 30 mins. Since I was there by myself, they passed me up and seated 2 couples at the bar that arrived and sign-in after me. This was blatantly done in front of me and to maximize their profits. It was clearly unfair to... More

Been going since the 80's for great conversation, a good steak and terrific ambience. Locals include actors, transients and all in-betweeners. What a fun place. Do NOT expect to walk in and get a table without a reservation. We always eat at the bar, which fills up quickly, also. No distilled spirits, only wine.

The dinner we had was quite good. They specialize in steaks and chicken. The sirloin was cooked to order. All meats are cooked over a wood fire. The salad and baked potato were very good. The wine selection was quite satisfactory. The service was excellent. It is quite out of the way but worth the trip.
