Elvira's recently had a make over with the new owner being in construction. I have to say the place is beautiful now. This restaurant has been on this corner for over 70 years and has served Mexican food to many generations. We go for breakfast most of time. I say it is a hit or miss because the service and... More

Graduation celebration with family and friends brought us in later in the evening to dine. The wait staff was with us the whole way and the attention was fantastic. The food is flavorful, abundant and very worth going back for more. I will definitely go there again on future visits and will bring others with me!

Went to Elvira's tonight, excited for a good meal after past experiences, but quickly disappointed! My daughter and I sat for 45 minutes, eating chips and salsa, while waiting for our food to come. When I asked a manager what the problem was he said he would check. Then came back and said he couldn't find my waitress (who when... More

Went with hubby & another couple for a bite to eat 3/06/14. Immediately greeted by friendly hostess & asked if we preferred a booth or table. Hubby had chimichanga. I had fajita enchilada. Our waitress was Beverly. Very friendly & efficient. Our food came quickly and was very hot. The chimi was good. My steak fajita was a bit tough... More

The food is good, service is great! Real, authentic Mexican food. The "new" owners (it's been a couple of years) have remodeled and upgraded the restaurant very nicely. The chips and salsa are never ending. [Hint: get the "other" salsa that's served in a bowl.] The only change that I don't like is that they revamped the menu and got... More

One of Apache Junctions really great Mexican resturants. It's been in town for over 25 years that I know of and has been completly remodeled inside and out. It's a must stop of authentic food and some cool drinks.

I have eaten here since I was a teenager. The food is consistently good and the service is outstanding.

Very large menu to select from. The six of us had a great dinner here. Good prices and service. Get there early for dinner.

Upon arrival we were told that there would be a 45 minute wait even though half the tables were empty, we asked if we could have a coffee while we waited and were told no, once we were seated the terrible service continued. My dad ordered decaf coffee and it took them almost 40 minutes to bring it. The regular... More

I had fish tacos, extra guacamole. She had old school beef tacos. We loved all of it! The service was good and the decor is very well done, much more "Scottsdale" than AJ frankly. After hiking I usually just starve heading back to PHX but now have a go-to-place for great Mexican food.
