Recoup from Ben's Chili Bowl here...

We were stuffed and happy from Ben's and saw Busboys and Poets with its hip, trendy, happy people sitting on big leather couches and overstuffed chairs, all cozy and warm inside. So we went inside. We sat at the bar and chatted with the wait staff and bartenders and sipped mimosas since they were... read more

Super cool venue with great food! I was there for a group event and we had a set menu, but the food was still awesome! I would also recommend looking into the history/message of the establishment. Very interesting!

A great find. Cool and laid back. Breakfast was lovely, the Greek yoghurt with fruit was so tasty. Staff were excellent, especially Dominique, who was a gem, a superstar, her smile lit up the day.

In a clever atmosphere reversing Barnes & Nobles model of a bookstore with a small cafe, Busboys and Poets is a cafe with a small bookstore. The atmosphere is jut right for a busy urban neighborhood. I had a gringo variation of huevos rancheros called the Oaxaca Omelette: black beans, cheese, pico de gallo and guacamole, served with whole-wheat toast... More

I have eaten at many locations and they do a good job of delivering a good food at a reasonable price. The menu has a lot of options so it's good if your group can't make up their mind. More variety on vegetarian and vegan options than a lot of places in town, which is nice. It's usually crowded so... More

The food was very tasty. My favorite is catfish, grits and collard greens. The entire meal was excellent. Everything was well seasoned, but not over-seasoned.

The food and atmosphere are both exceptional. Unusual menu items make this memorable dining. Vegetarian items are appealing and there really is something for everyone. There may be a wait at busy times but the staff remains friendly despite the bustle. Counter top dining may make for some added interesting conversations. Better to walk as parking may be a hassle.

This restaurant is always busy and there are people eating, reading the using their computers. Its a nice place to go to hear poets in the evening hours. The Reuben sandwich is massive in size along with fries (sweet potato white potato) or a large salad. The Corn Beef is very tender and served with large dill pickle. Too much... More

Fun bordering on boisterous at this gregarious watering hole for the more arty youth. Food better than expected.

Beautiful people, great food, relaxed atmosphere, and overall great vibe. Multigenerational and multiethnic crowd on this Saturday afternoon. And I thought it was just gonna be a bookstore. But no, this is a scene. I haven't been to a tremendous number of places in DC but this is the first that has all that! Only downside was the food too... More
