This restaurant has such a good vibe, you start smiling the minute you walk in the door. The entrance area is a small bookstore with a limited but diverse selection. The bar is centrally located and the tables are spread out around it in. There is nice outdoor seating as well. The decor is urban and the menu is full... More

This is an amazing 200+ seater restaurant-cum-arts centre with a history of political activism. It´s a living art gallery, bookshop and theater..... And the food and service is EXCELLENT. As they say on the check they are "serving food and ideas". My classic Eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon, hollandaise and creamy cheese grits (a sort of semolina but much nicer)... More

We had visited the Arlington location some years ago and were thrilled to find this one near our hotel! The food was just as good as we remembered. They have lots of options to please everyone. Our service could have been better but who hasn't run into that once or twice. I just kicked back, enjoyed my Thin Mint Latte... More

I visited the eve of 4th of July and truly enjoyed this place. The food was excellent, the ambience was quite lovely and entertaining. Kudos to the staff-excellent customer service. Minimum wait time. If you want a quiet place to eat, this is not the place to go, it can get very loud. Great place to meet up with friends... More

My friend suggested that we go to Busboys and Poets... I wasn't sure as we had kids with us. This place was great! The food choices were great! The drink selection was awesome. The atmosphere was wonderful.. This is a place for all kinds. Those who love books, those who want to chill and eat/drink, and those who just want... More

We dined here on Saturday evening. Not a bad wait and was pretty crowded. The noise level is extreme. Conversation was a challenge. Food was very good. Nice me use, but we were all in a burger mood. Staff was pleasant.

Great funky restaurant with adjoining bookstore--often have speakers and poetry slam events in the evening as part of DC's political scene. Food is very good and the meats are natural, grass fed, etc--something for everyone on the menu--American Fare, but very yummy. I really like the Grilled Steak and Asparagus Salad. Panini's are very good. Not gourmet but a great... More

Bookstore, special events, and extensive menu in Columbia heights neighborhood. Variety of seating areas with traditional tables, chairs and couches and areas to set and use laptop. Environment and menu are unique. Prices are reasonable for DC. Kitchen sometime seems overwhelmed (got cold sweet potato fries and over-toasted bread) Favorites are Mediterranean Pizza and Portabella Mushroom Panini. Have been there... More

This was recommended as a place to go for lunch but we went in the evening and although busy we waited at the bar for no more than 15 minutes. We ordered italian style food and it arrived quickly and was perfect. The staff were really friendly and even showed us a free app to download for public transport in... More
