Cute, charming and bustling

The idea of a combined book store and café is brilliant to start with. Also, it's a really good bookstore! I loved the variety of litterature, the variety of music, the variety of clientel (couples talking about their day, solo vistors working on their laptops, friends sitting and chatting) and the... read more

The food and service were both horrible. Everyone had an attitude there. I felt completely disrespected and ignored. I will not be going back.

Had an amazing dinner here with a large group of friends. Super busy though so make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to be seated since they don't take reservations. The bookstore section helps to pass the time. Our waiter was fantastic and so was the food. If I'm ever in DC again this will be my first stop!

Great food. Comfortable environment. Plus, there's a bookstore to entertain you while you are waiting for a table.

I visited here on the basis of the reviews and glad I did. I had to wait for a table, but there's a bookstore section that more than takes your time. The food was excellent and presented well. The wine list was wonderful and desserts scrumptious.

I have never had a bad thing on the menu and I always get something different. Never let down once! Staff are awesome, food is delicious, and I just love what this place stand for. I'll be a frequent visitor during 2016 because they show the debates! Love this place, did I say that already? :-)

We wanted to take our college aged son to a restaurant that would fit into his definition of what was a "happening" spot and this fit the bill. We liked the atmosphere, the location, the food and the service.

This is a beautiful space, the kind of place you'd like to wile away hours in. It is spacious, bright, and friendly. The focal wall is painted with a large mural that includes a painting of Langston Hughes, the famous poet after whom Busboys and Poets gets its name. I was greeted by a friendly person at the door, seated... More

A DC local took me here for a quick bite. The food was good and I loved the décor of the restaurant. Our server was super friendly and did not rush us to order or anything. I would come back here. It's a pretty solid place.

I have heard about Busboys and Poets for awhile but never had a chance to experience the place. Scheduled to meet with friends for afternoon tea and drinks and I love the place. I will certainly make it my solo afternoon outing in the future. Books on the shelves are limited in nature and purpose but plenty for shopping. Plenty... More
