great food - took the family. salmon, burgers, penne with chorizo all excellent

Overall great food and atmosphere. Bookstore is focused on social issues so kids may not see much of interest

A number of the reviews here use the word "hip" to describe Busboys & Poets, and I agree that it has that vibe. But if you're like me (meaning middle-aged), "hip" can sometimes be a codeword for "so loud that you won't be able to hear your companions talking," so let me assure you that Busboys & Poets manages to... the food here was great, and it has something for everyone - meat eater, vegetarian, gluten free-er. well priced and all the food was delish. we had the 'chicken' satay thingys, turkey burgers and the 'tuna' salad. everyone loved the food. honestly, the only reason it doesnt get 5 stars was that we had the weirdest waiter ever. i'm all... It's a very hip, fun coffee shop/book store/restaurant and bar with delicious food. It's a bit loud for my old-lady tastes, but it's got great energy and good service. I heard book sales go to education. Righteous!

Food was good, but the friend I went with had been overcharged previously and wanted her money back. We had to keep asking for someone to resolve this and after a few inquiries, someone finally researched her old bill and refunded her. Don't you know I just got my credit card statement and I was overcharged for the meal I... More

We were there with friends at the beginning of this year for dinner and what a dinner! I loved this place for the relaxing ambience and the exquisite burgers. For starter we had a huge plate of wholewheat nachos with cheese, guacamole and tomato…Yum! But the best were the burgers. Here you find some really special ones like the delicious... More

Loved the food, was very full, though it is kinda pricey. Went with a bunch of friends and was able to get outside seating for the 8 of us. I haven't seen poetry there, but look forward to going back soon.

If you are looking for a hip, multicultural place to hang out with great food, this is it. Been around nearly ten years but expanding and always crowded. The service is excellent and friendly, The cook is a bit slow, but it allows you to soak in the atmosphere, of which there is a lot, including a bookstore. Only negative... More

On a business trip to Washington, DC an old friend took me out to dinner to Busboys and Poets because he knew I liked interesting places to eat. Upon entering the place on a busy Sunday night, it felt like I was entering a student lounge with lots of people sitting around tables and coffee tables in chairs and couches... More
