If you have work to do but hate sitting in a hotel room, best spot in town has to be the little Wifi lounge area at B & P -- if you can get a seat and an outlet in front of the huge glass windows, will be working in a very eclectic and interesting crowd, natural to strike up... More

More than a restaurant, this is a Washington institution. Located on now bustling 14th Street (there are other locations), this bookstore/restaurant pulses with the energy of the local artists whose works adorn the walls. If you need a comfortable place to work on your laptop, you can settle at a comfortable sofa or table. Named from a line in a... More

Great space - lots of comfortable seating and people holding meetings, working on laptops etc. Awesome political energy and bookstore. However, our waiter was abrupt bordering on rude, The food was mediocre at best. I had the tofu spinach scramble with potatoes. Boring. My husband ordered a bagel and lox . There were no choices of bagel and a tiny... More

Hubby and I are vegetarian for 25 years and love to travel and dine. We were gastronomically delighted at having found busboys and poets. The tempeh panini was delish as was the vegan cobb salad - argula could have been fresh picked. How do they get the tempeh so crisp? If nothing else try the flourless chocolate cake.

The food was fantastic and it has such a great vibe! However, the service was really, really slow. Someone came to take my order *immediately* and when I asked for a few more minutes to look at the menu, it was AGES before they came back. I had the same experience in asking for the check and then waiting for... More

I'm never disappointed when I dine at Busboys and Poets, I had the sweet potato pancakes which were to die for!! Short wait even for a Sunday morning, service was great and moderately priced.

My friend and I hadn't eaten lunch and it was already 3PM. We were walking down 14th St. and my friend saw Busboys and Poets and said shed always wanted to try it as all her friends just loved the place. her friends were right. It is part bookstore and a large restaurant. The menu was great, with all kinds... More

While you wait for your table, you can stop by the adjoining book store and read all the anti free enterprise, anti USA, anti Semitic literature you can handle but don't let it get you down, the food is eclectic and excellent---fish, steak, pasta and all done in about the most interesting way possible. Great pizza too. Weekend nights are... More

This is one of the more eclectic and fun restaurants in DC. I have never had any bad food there. The atmosphere is also fun as it also has a bookstore. Every so often they have special events like live music or readings. It is a great place to stop in for a cup of coffee, dinner, or some place... More

B&P is like a bookstore, coffee shop, restaurant, meeting place, wi-Fi hotspot and show venue all rolled up into one. With a mixture of mini living room set ups with sofas and chairs as well as bar height dining tables it drew a mixture of families w/kids as well as couples on dates and it created an atmosphere of noisy...
