Good Cajun food in the District

We went to Acadiana for Sunday brunch. Great variety - we loved the broiled oysters, the seafood crepes & the bread pudding. However, the dishes were missing a bit of the flair that a person who has been to New Orleans several times would notice. If you've never been to the Big Easy, Acadiana is... read more

Stopped in for dinner looking for a creole flair. The service was prompt and very attentive. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere with several options including a nice dining room, an inside bar area as well as outside seating and bar. Good selection of beers, featuring offerings from Abita. The food was a mixed affair. They start you with dry... More

Have been here numerous times - food is always great, wait staff superb and management cares about customers. Not cheap (after all, its Washington, DC) but well worth it. Have tried numerous entrees and all were wonderful.

Have a Sazarak and charbroiled oysters. That are the most. Delicious thing ever. Happy specials and patio and bar.

Friends visiting from Indianapolis and my family met here (close to their hotel) - Excellent southern Louisiana style restaurant; superb customer service; extensive dinner menu - waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful (loved the duck and collard greens!). Other great choices that night included the rib eye, bbq shrimp, veal medallions and grits, and pork chops - everyone enjoyed their... More

Having lived in DC for the last year or so I get homesick for good cajun food. I tried the fried green tomatoes which were beautifully fried but the spice boiled shrimp remoulade was overly spiced and made everything they touched soggy. I also had corn and blue crab soup which was good but again over spiced. My husband had... More

The restaurant is very well-located, near the Washington Convention Center and has a well-appointed dining room with nice banquette seating. I didn't get to sit in one of those comfortable looking seats, however. I found the food rather underwhelming: the turtle soup was overly salty (trend in restaurants these days), the seafood gumbo was better flavored (after I asked for... More

We went as a family of five including 3 teenagers. We ordered 3 appetizers, 4 different meals (one duplicate) and 2 desserts. Everything was "good" but nothing stood out as "we have to come back for that". The wait staff was exceptional - always there when needed and very helpful with food and drink selections. If only the food was... More

Went here on recommendation of hotel Staff. The decor was beautiful and staff very professional and friendly. Our server was Rebecca who was knowledgable about menu. We decided on charbroiled oysters, boudin balls, demitasse of turtle soup, chicken and andouille sausage gumbo, corn/crab soup and also shrimp and grits. I ended my meal with a pecan tart topped with almond... More
