This is our go to place for good Peruvian food and drinks and it has never disappointed us. The ceviche is amazing and they have a great selection of Peruvian food. Service is excellent and the ambiance is great. We typically go for an early dinner and stay a bit longer drinking their delicious pisco sours. Great value for your... More

My husband and I went here because of the reviews that I had read on here. I had the Chupe de Camarones and my husband had Quinotto with shrimp. We were so delighted with both of our meals. The service was excellent. I would definitely return on another trip to Washington, DC.

The food here was very good and the menu quite impressive. Some great wines (some traditional Peruvian to match the menu). The service was good and the atmosphere feels very hip and comfortable. The only problem is the acoustics. I literally had a sore throat by the time we left, from trying to have a conversation with the friend across... More

My friend and I were searching for a good Peruvian restaurant on the internet and found Las Canteras in Adams Morgan. When we arrived at 6 pm we were warmly received and seated. We ordered drinks that were delicious made with Peruvian liqueur, lime, chopped mint and cilantro. The atmosphere was lively but conversation was easy: no need to shout... More

We had a fantastic meal and experience. My husband loved his cebiche, with spicy lime juice and fresh seafood. My quinoa was delicious, cheesy and rich. The cocktail list is extensive and unique. The decor is nice, and the staff and service were very good. We thought prices were reasonable based on DC standards. This restaurant would be a great... More

Las Canteras has a wonderful menu and the best Pisco Sours I have had outside of South America! The menu provided an an interesting variety of Peruvian dishes for everyone in our group (which included a vegetarian and a child). The Ceviche Duo was plentiful and bright and delicious- we shared that for an appetizer and it did not last... More

We went to Las Canteras on the advice of a friend. I hadn't been to DC in years but knew there was wonderful and varied ethnic restaurants. The restaurant was not what I expected visually, as it was smaller and older than I thought. But the food and service were amazing. It was beautifully prepared and served and robust in... More

This place was really busy and had a great atmosphere. I'd recommend booking on the weekend as we got lucky with a short notice 8.30 table. There were 4 vegetarian specific dishes which was great, and the cocktail list was extensive and very nice! The decor and toilets could do with an update but the food & service make up... More

Our 11 year old daughter recommended Las Canteras after a school field trip. Our Saturday evening meal was delicious. My magic mojito hit the spot as did my daughter's Inca cola. Papas rellenas and shrimp were well prepared. The service was great.

The interiors and the general ambiance could be better, the toilets and in general the hygiene needs some improvement as well but it's not horrible. The food is amazing! We had the Peruvian sampler, ceviche classico and the avocado salad. All highly recommended. Prices are reasonable and on a Saturday night it's not to full. Also try as many margaritas... More
