Great Food and Great Drinks

I always know that if I want great food and drinks any night of the week or time of day, I can go to Las Canteras. The Peruvian food and drinks are flavorful and diverse. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice and authentically Peruvian. I really like the artwork. The waitstaff are... read more

We had a wonderful meal here last weekend. The food was the highlight, but the ambiance (great Peruvian music) and service were excellent as well. We loved the cebiche and family recipe avocado salad as appetizers. My quinotto (risotto made with quinoa) with shrimp entree was delicious and my husband raved about his cod entree. Pisco sours were so good... More

my first time trying peruvian cuisine, so it was exciting. but actually i ordered a seafood platter and it was too much because it was all fried. and some of the food are not halal because they cook it with wine.

I was referred here by a friend of the owner, so was very excited to try this local restaurant. The ceviche was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC, and the pisco sours were cute and well-made. Sadly, the rest of my meal was a disappointment. It started off slowly...the first two slices in the bread basket were fluffy, fresh, and amazing, especially when paired... More

The cebiche is excellent. We had the arroz con pollo and the aji de gallina. Both were delicious. Both of us had wines from Chile which were superb.

Went to Adams Morgan for dinner, and decided to try Peruvian food here in DC. Las Canteras felt welcoming, ambience is great for a quiet dinner. We ordered the Ceviche, very tasty and fresh white fish. Also had Lomo Saltado (usually order this when I go to a Peruvian restaurant), their version is very tasty with the right amount of... More

Peruvian food is one of my favorites, and this place does not fail to disappoint. A bit higher priced than some of the hole in the wall places for Peruvian that I am used to, since it's clearly meant for a bit of a different demographic. All the food is delicious with beautiful preparation.

All I have to say is that most of the times I eat here - employees from the Consulate of Peru are eating there! You should too. Try the Lomo Saltaldo!

My boyfriend and I went for dinner last Saturday. Service was good and we were seated immediately. The food was above average but nothing to rave about really. The pisco cocktails were good but not remarkable. I do have to say their green sauce and bread was pretty awesome.. I smeared the sauce on my food too! Aside from that,... More
