My husband and I went to Tabaq Bistro on July 4 around 5:30, after walking around in Adams Morgan/U Street looking for a decent place to get a drink and a bite to eat. It would have been our second visit, and we remembered the nice view, good drinks, and excellent small plate food. When we walked up the three... More

Came recommended from our B&B owner. Wasn't as impressed as hoped. Snarky manager - commented on how touristy we were -- buddy, we are the only customers you have in your restaurant at the moment, so perhaps you should be happy to see us. Sells on the view of DC - not really (in daylight). My companion ordered a vodka... More

After stumbling upon this restaurant website and seeing photos of the rooftop dining area, I was thrilled to schedule a recent business dinner with two colleagues at Tabaq. I didn't mind the several flights of stairs we had to climb in order to get to the top; I found it exciting to be completely surprised when the climb ended and... More

I rarely review local restaurants in my home town, but I think Tabaq is worthy of a mention, due to it's "hidden gem" status. The food is always good, plentiful, and reasonably priced. Their brunch is fantastic- I always take out of town guests there, and they love it not just for the food, but the lovely view of the... More

One of the best views of DC at the top of the bar! Fun drinks. Wait staff is friendly but a bit slow. Great U Street spot.

Worth a visit for the lamb shank and decent views of the city from the roof terrace dining area. Service is warm, inviting and attentive. All other items ordered were very average in presentation and quality... tuna tar tar was very dry, meatball dill yogurt sauce bland and watery.... made us wish we ordered more of the lamb shank.

The rooftop terrace is an excellent spot to view the 4th of July fireworks. The set menu was value for money, food was good but not spectacular. Service was a bit average.

I surprised my wife for valentines and we flew to DC, this restaurant is everything it is made to be. On a street with other places with flashing lights and great outside appeal this is a simple house with a flag hanging on the front with the name. It is obvious they spend their time on the food. They have... More
