We shad the mussels in white wine- sheer perfection. Each mussel open and succulent, perfectly balanced broth for sopping up with a sliced baguette. I had the veal osso buco, a special, on spinach in a tomato sauce. Delicious, soft and a large portion, took half home. The Brussels sprouts with bacon and pear are beautifully carmelized and have a... More

I recently celebrated my birthday at Brasserie Beck. We got a lovely table in the main dining room. Three out of the five people in my party ordered the Kennet Square Mushroom Ragout to start. I tried it and it was delicious. I had the shallot and onion soup which was great as well. For the mains, I had the... More

After searching for a good dinner place close by my hotel, I found Brasserie Beck. I was craving for a good steak frites and, by far, this was the best I've had in a while! Well-prepared steak with beautifully roasted vegetables and perfectly cooked fries combined with a nice house cabernet made for a perfect dinner. Wish I had room... More

Went for happy hour on a Monday before the workday crowds arrived. Like most places in downtown DC, they have tasty happy hour specials (I opted for the lamb meatballs and frites), but they're so much better with drafts of Straffe Hendrick Tripel.

The best Saturday or Sunday happy hour. Oysters a great price and the BEST!! Other menu items are very tasty! Good beer selection as well as wines.

We went with a large group (10) for brunch. Everyone's entrees were exceptional. Particular kudos to the waffles and chicken and crab cake Benedict, in particular the farm fresh eggs on the Benedict were amazing! The stuffed crepes were also good but very sweet. Service was good and attentive which isn't always easy with a big party. All in all,... More

We held a private cocktail hour and dinner in their private room last night, and they did a superb job in both service and food quality. Thirty people were accommodated with a combination of 3 entrees and a range of starters. The room was comfortable and quiet enough to let us celebrate our guest and enjoy the meal too. The... More

Always fresh, the dozen littlenecks were nice and briny, accompanied by two sauces. Large orders of mussels come with fries, served with three sauces. While my family had the classic wine & garlic, I had mine with veal bolognese. I was skeptical but decided to take the plunge and was glad I did.

The beer is good but that's about it. Service was very inattentive and extremely slow, even by Belgian standards. We prefer a leisurely meal but you should not have to wait an hour for an entree. The food then turned up lukewarm and nothing exciting at all.

I had dinner here on Tuesday night - Even at 8:00, the restaurant was still packed. We ate out on the patio, and had a server who would disappear for 10-15 minutes at a time. It took forever for him just to offer us a cocktail. After we had been sitting there for over 30 minutes, another server brought us... More
