This place was recommended by the concierge at our hotel, "luckily you're around the corner from the best Indian place in town". I thought he was just trying to get us to go to a place nearby for kickbacks or whatever. BUT The food was stellar. My wife and I set the bar very high for the restaurant when we... More

My wife and i have been here several times - twice during restaurant week just us, and once with another couple. The food is a bit pricey but some of the best indian food we've ever had, and certainly the best in DC. Delicious cocktails and fabulous dishes. The Palak Chaat appetizers is a must have. The one time we... More

Quite a hotspot, luckily we had reservations. Young, bustling crowd at the bar, with ample seating. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the drinks were great also. I will return to this restaurant.

Generally I am not a fan of Indian Restaurants -- including some that are acclaimed. They seem to be "more of same" with predictably tender meat smothered in heavy ( and heavily spiced) sauces. Perhaps I am showing my ignorance. This restaurant was different. Our party of four ordered the six course chef's tasting menu with paired wines. The first... More

Best East Indian fare in the area "bar none." And of course, it cost. A note for my fellow New Yorkers, rice is a side order.

I stopped by Rasika -- which was fully-booked with respect to reservations -- and ate at the bar. The lights were dim and made reading the menu a bit unhandy, so I just told the bartender that I liked spicy chicken and wanted to avoid milk, cream, and yogurt. He immediately pointed me to Chicken Green Masala ($18 and worth... More

Hats off to the folks at Rasika. Our meal was divine! We had a tasting menu that consisted of several proteins, the blackened cod and a salad that was to die for...seriously! Wine pairings with each course were spot on. Loved, loved, loved every minute and every bite! We will be back again...this time with our kids who are going... More

Highly recommend; the palak chat is amazing. The chicken tikka masala is wonderful. The ambience is lovely and the service was great. Cocktails are yummy. All in all, no negatives.

I thought I knew Indian cuisine but my oh my was my palette awakened at Rasika's in DC last weekend! Celebrating my niece's graduation from GW University, we were treated to one of the best meals we've ever had. My brother-in-law frequents this marvelous restaurant whenever he's in town but we don't get to DC very often and we were... More
