Went here after the opera Saturday evening, we had 10:30 reservations and showed up at about 9:50. They didn't have table for us (which was no big deal) we decided to sit at the bar. We were barely greeted by the no less than 4 people standing behind the bar even though there were only 8 other people seated around... More

Central is Michel Richard's '"downtown" restaurant. You first notice the bar. Plenty of young and not so young hill employees after work. The bartenders are fun and pleasant. But on to the dinner. The open kitchen lets you see everything being prepared which is a great thing for out of towners or your relatives. The charcuterie is great to start... More

Washington DC has loads of new and trendy restaurants but sometimes it's the "old standbys" that are the best. Central consistently delivers. Each of us was very pleased with our entrees and we are very particular diners.

We enjoyed the food and the ambience of this busy DC restaurant. Whilst the choice is fairly limited, the food is of a high quality. The service was mixed. Our server disappeared off at one point and we were overcharged by almost $200. To be fair to Central, as soon as it was pointed out they adjusted the bill. I... More

Had high hopes until our drinks came wrong the first time...and the second time. Is it the bartenders first day? And did I mention that it is 100 degrees in here? And does anyone know how to replace lightbulbs? Several are burned out. The beef tartare is served with French fries and is utterly flavorless. Our salad came out as... More

Met colleagues for an early dinner and everything was awesome. Some truly original offerings and uniques twists on traditional American-French Bistro food. The cheese puffs were spectacular, as was the goat cheese casear salad. Our table order a mix of burgers (hamburger and lobster burgers), fried chicken and hanger steak. Our sides: fries, brussel sprots and creamed spinach all got... More

This popular (and noisy) bistro has an excellent kitchen that seems to reflect a creative interpretation of American bistro food. We enjoyed it so much the first night that we returned another night in our short trip to DC.

My last trip to Central Michel Richard was nearly 5 years ago - and simply don't know WHY. The menu selections are creative, elegant and scrumptious. My last visit I ordered the chicken it was superb, however the star of the plate was the salad - dressed in a heavenly lemon vinaigrette. Food is reasonably priced and the service is... More

We shared a corn beef sandwich and fries at this restaurant. The food was excellent as was the service. The place was packed, which wasn't surprising, when one considers how good the food was.

The only bad thing I can say is that we had dinner here on the last night of our trip (and didn't have time to return). From start to finish.....an excellent dining experience. We started with the cheese puffs (yummy) and finished with the celebration cake (even better) and, in between had the lamb shank and hangar steak (with wonderful... More
