Michel Richard's Central never disappoints. The food is always fantastic. My personal favorite is the Lobster burgers- it is amazing. The fried chicken is great too. For dessert, Michel's chocolate bar and the banana split are both great choices. It is noisy but not anymore so than a busy restaurant in NYC or LA

Five of us dined here for the first time. The menu encourages starting with “for the table snacks” and we ordered three of them. The one that earned the highest praise was a pot of “Faux Gras”—a creamy chicken liver terrine—accompanied by an earthy slice of country pate. The oysters (three kinds) were also excellent. The cheese puffs were very... More

So, I'm a bit behind on my reviews. We ate dinner at Central Michel Richard in August of 2013, on a visit to Washington with my wife and 12-year-old nephew. It was a truly excellent experience, from being seated to walking out the door, full and happy. We started with the cheese puffs, which lived up to their lofty reputation,... More

The noise of the kitchen plus the loud voices make it difficult to have a pleasant meal with a friend. Perhaps something could be done about this. I tried the mussels and they were perfect, but the bread had nothing to do with a French baguette. Dishes are almost fit for for two, but you feel like eating quickly to... More

Having previously been absolutely wowed by Michel with 15 courses and 15 wines (I think!) at Citronelle's chef's table, I was intrigued to try Central. I turned up on spec with a business colleague. The place was very full, but they were welcoming and managed to find place where we could sit - albeit a bit perched. We thoroughly enjoyed... More

An experience as well as a savoury food journey, Michel Richard's Central provided the atmosphere, excellent service and a delicious menu for this group of college graduation celebrants. The private room was booked for a party of 12--set off from the rest of the restaurant, but with a glass wall that overlooked the kitchen. The menu items offered 4 choices... More

We had an 8:30 pm dinner reservation on a Tuesday. Upon entering the restaurant, the volume from the other diners was overwhelming. Our server was pleasant and accommodating. The food was delicious and elegantly presented. The gruyere and prosciutto appetizers are a must have! The major turn off was at the end of our evening. Granted, we were the last... More

We are pleased that Michel Richard opened another DC place after our favorite Citronelle closed. Richard studied under the legendary Lenotre so you can plan on desserts being over the top. Central is on par so save room, the Napoleon, candy bar... Our salad appetizers were good and seafood main courses also good, the sea bass particularly good. The place... More

Visiting DC and very fortunate to score a table as Central was very busy and I can see why. I had the boneless short rib which was braised for 48 hours. It was moist and the consistency of velvet with a savory reduction sauce. The gazpacho was divine and the celebration desert was indeed a celebration. We had a table... More

Reserved and I was asked to wait for about 5 mins. We're seated near the kitchen and it's kind of uncomfortable for us but we're able to see how the kitchen works. Took some nice pics too. You may want to avoid this if you didn't want to smell after you dine. Mains cost about $20 to $30. Wife had... More
