Terrific local restaurant

Near the Omni Shoreham, the restaurant is perfect for any meal. Mine was breakfast. I come to this place every year and it is always consistent. The waitstaff are very attentive and quick. Sat at the bar three times on our visit. Delicious cocktails, decent coffee and amazing eggs beni and French toast. Classic late night burger and drinks can never be wrong!

My wife and I stumbled across this place while staying at the Marriott. We want a private meal on our last night and found this place walking down the street from the hotel and metro stop. While close to the hotel, there were very few visitors here. This appeared to be a very good neighborhood eatery. We shared the nightly... More

Lively atmosphere, good food and in the sunroom, filled with light (even on a gloomy January day). Highly recommend!

Relatively close to the DC zoo. On a Sunday mid-day, you'll wait quite a while...be prepared. Service and food good, and reasonable prices. They'll let you bring in your own cake for a celebration ;) Parking nearby is tricky. Water coolers outside while you wait is a nice touch!

Over the years Open City has built a reputation as a solid place for a meal, a great place for caffeine seeking neighbors, and has always maintained a broad menu that has something for everyone. It's been awhile since I went, and This morning as soon as I walked in, I immediately remembered my hesitancy. It's loud, the staff vacillates... More

Actually, a charming little place. Prices are reasonable. Staying at the Omni and this is a place to get a reasonably priced dinner. Staff was very helpful when several members of our party had some difficult and unusual requests. No eye rolling here. Classic Americana; I had a cheeseburger and fried with a salad. I couldn't even begin to finish... More

Not an extensive menu but good food, large portions and reasonable value for money. Had breakfast here every morning during our stay and it was always buzzing and lively.

This is a minutes walk from where we were staying at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. We went in one evening and there was a great atmosphere, plenty of staff buzzing around and there restaurant was fairly full. We ordered one plate of chicken wings to start shared this, there was plenty and then we had mussels and fries. The food... More

Open & airy - enclosed outside space with lots of light. Service was good - regular & unobtrusive. I liked the queso, crispy chips, and avocado slices in the migas - wasn't really into the very-cooked meat curdles. Maybe it's because I'm a product of Austin Tex-Mex.
