30 minute wait at 9:15am but worth it. It's a bustling place with good food for breakfast. The hash browns were amazing. The Californian omelette was really good too. Would visit again (despite having to wait).

We had some family members visiting and staying in a hotel nearby, and so decided to try this place. This restaurant is always busy; sometimes has a line at the door. The interior dining room was loud! The food was a mixed bag: roasted chicken and mussels were good, average turkey burger and salmon sandwich, and tasteless deviled eggs. The... More

This place was located near where I was staying the Omni Shorehem, so decided to get out in the morning for breakfast. My first visit was so good, I went back the next morning. I hear lunch is pretty good also but decided to try other local spots.

We stayed at nearby OMNI and we were upset that we did not try Open City sooner! The breakfast was soooo tasty and a great deal, lovely patio to sit out and people watch. Highly recommend the breakfast at Open City!

We came here on 9/21/14, for breakfast. We were in DC visiting from LA and had noticed a huge crowd every day, different hours of the day, figured it was THE SPOT to eat good food at, but we were deceived. We all had a different variation of the Open City Royale breakfast and all were a gross disappointment. The... More

Superb seavice and food, no hassle service, very down to earth. Had breakfast twice and not disappointed. Have a look at the cakes as well.

Went for brunch. Pretty good classic American brunch food (omelettes, French toast, waffles, egg dishes, a breakfast burrito) and some cute brunch drinks. . Definitely a crowded spot - there was a 40 min wait for two at 10:30 am, but it moved faster than the 40 min estimate. Nice service.

Let me start by saying there are two aspects to this. The food and the customer service. The chicken that came in my chicken and waffles was clearly not cooked. Parts of it were raw and cold. My friend's ribs were burnt so much that he could not eat them. So we headed back...assuming we'd get a refund and an... More

Our daughter lives in the neighborhood around Open City. I'm sure that we've eaten here 20 or more times over the years. Open City just figures out how to deliver time after time. We had lunch here yesterday, and once again it was really good. My daughter and I had the BLT, and it was great. My wife had a... More

This place is always packed and has a line most weekends for brunch so we were expecting something amazing but it was quite a disappointment. It has a nice ambience, but super loud, the service was meh, nothing to write home about, and the food was barely OK. There are plenty of better Mexican or brunch places in DC. I... More
