This was probably the best restaurant we had been to during our stay in DC. The line outside the restaurant was always long during "brunch" hour and finally we decided to try it out and it sure didn't disappoint. Food did not take long to serve, their flavors were excellent and all of us on the table enjoyed our dish... More

We walked to open city after an afternoon at the zoo. There were plenty of restaurants to pick for and we were all pleased with the choice. I had a delicious dish called a "crusty club". It was turkey, cheddar, bacon and tomato in a pastry shell with greens on the side. It was unique and very tasty. My son... More

We went here for dinner one night and breakfast the morning after. Both experiences were really good. Much thanks to the very friendly staff and obviously great chefs. It's an affordable place with a very cool vibe, a bit like a neighbourhood cafe where everyone is treated like a regular. Will definitely return next time I'm in D.C.

Visited most days during our stay in Washington. A great mix of clientele, with locals, business people, students and tourists. Fantastic breakfast and lunches and milkshakes to die for (especially the Washington Carver for peanut butter lovers). Great to sit outside or by the open windows in the sun.

Went here twice while in the area for business. Once with a group for dinner and the second time solo for lunch. Both times the service was slow and completely not attentive, the staff seemed more interested in socializing with each other than taking care of their customers. When we went for dinner I just had to try the chicken... More

Visited this for several breakfasts and were not disappointed. Good selection of dishes. Service a bit slow but the diner was always busy so maybe this was why.

We stayed at the Omni Shoreham and this is a great lower cost choice for a good breakfast. The food is very good, the portions adequate and a nice setting. Once done you are literally steps away from the Metro.

I had a good meal at Open City, breakfast. I order an omelet and it was cooked very well, not too fluffy, but certainly done. The potatoes were also good. I was very nonplussed by the service though, it was beyond poor! The waiter came to take my order, and only returned when I wanted the check. He was not... More

In town for conference & went for brunch after late night out on the town! Very popular with the locals who know of the diner/bar seating and grab & go cup of Joe. Great menu and pet friendly. If you are on a schedule, go early to bet the weekend brunch crowd.
