Service, not the reason to go

The food was most excellent! We had the crab cakes and the smoked pad Thai ribs. Crab cakes were delicious and contained a lot of crab not filling. The Thai ribs were perfect. Asian BBQ sauce with pad Thai noodles. The German chocolate pecan pie dessert was one of the best desserts I've ever had... read more

We had a special event to plan for some collegues and we chose Clyde's at Gallery Place for dinner before going over to Ford's Theater for an event. We arrived and was greeted by the hostess and seated. It took 15 or minutes for our server to come over and greet us and take our drink orders. We wanted to... More

Went here for dinner tonight and it was fantastic! Food, service, and atmosphere. We had artichoke and crab dip starter which started things off on a good foot. My main course was NY strip steak, grilled asparagus, & potatoes. Steak was cooked to the correct temperature and tasted wonderful. The final act was chocolate chip bread pudding with vanilla ice... For lunch a May day A friend and I had lunch at Clyde’s. We was nice and friendly received and got a good table. I ordered a hamburger medium rare, and fries. The burger came perfect, and tasted well. So did the beer we ordered. The lunch was finished with a crème brulee which was fully acceptable and tasted nice.... More

Went to Clyde's with three others following a conference in DC. I had the bratwurst and it was quite good; particularly the sauerkraut. My colleagues each enjoyed their meals. The service was perfunctory and not that great. The waiter seemed disinterested and bothered to be waiting on us. Not once were we asked if we had questions about the menu.... More

Clyde's was recommended by our concierge because it was within walking distance. But it was more than convenient. We loved the restaurant, the decor, and the food. The service was excellent, but the food even better. I ordered the crab cakes and because I'm a little eater, I only ordered one. Big mistake! It was delicious and 2 would have... More

I was with 4 associates, all of whom had been to Clyde's previously. I was guided by their recommendations as the menu is expansive and Burgers appear to be very popular based on the versions. We shared the Calamari for appetizer. I decided to go with the double order of Crabcakes which were all crab and very tasty. An enjoyable... More

I have dined at this Clyde's, one of my favorite DC area restaurants because of consistently good food and service, at least five times over the past several years. I showed up for lunch last week at about 1pm on a rainy Wed. I sat at the larger bar (of two bars) to read the paper and order lunch. There... More

Food was great...service was better. Mariah took great care of us, gave us delicious free desserts as it was our first time. The cheese board was awesome..goat cheese and beet ravioli was spectacular. Would definitely come again.

I can honestly say that I’ve never had a bad meal at a Clyde’s location, and the Gallery Place Clyde’s did not disappoint. They have a large menu and I love how they continue to update their menu with new items. The service is always better than average and the atmosphere is great-very relaxing. I ordered the grilled chicken salad... More
