Description: Blue Duck Tavern, a contemporary neighborhood restaurant, invites its guests to gather and celebrate in good taste with a menu focusing on the freshest ingredients available from local purveyors and artisans. The menu notes every farm where the main ingredient for the dish was raised before its journey to the table. Dishes are genuine, time-honored and traditional -- slow roasting in wood embers, braising, preserving and smoking techniques bring the true flavors of America's great, simple and wholesome foods to the Blue Duck Tavern. The restaurant has an elegant residential feel through the open staff pantry and kitchen, wood-burning oven and the showpiece Molteni range.

The BDT is a delightful spot for lunch. Impressive service - the most accommodating and professional I've experienced in DC, a truly inspiring atmosphere, and delectable fare served from an amazing open kitchen, this is a comfortable, top notch eatery in the West End of DC.

Inside a Hyatt w/fab cherry blossom glass structure. The restaurant reception people are soo kind. Lead you to the bathroom and no pressure even though we were running late due to traffic. Took my jacket for me as I'd forgotten to check it. Place is cozy and elegant, surprised us with pink champagne for our anniversary (I was staying at... More

Having recently paid too much for too little at another "great" restaurant, I can say the BDT is worth both the time and expense. Service is understated but appreciated. Food is locally sourced, fresh, and well considered. Haute cuisine is not the deal here. Incredibly high quality, consistent, really well done food is. Thank you BDT. If I search for... More

Staff and service was great but the food was not to my liking. Our Frittata and Omelets were overcooked, and even the food was wonderful the value is not there.

I came here for my birthday with a friend. Everything went very well. Food was great, ambiance was great. It was much more reasonable than I would have thought, but on par with the rest of D.C. My only complaint would be that all sides are served separately, but serve about 1 1/2 portions, so if you do not go... More

Traveling from out of town with two colleagues, we went to the BDT because 1) the reviews were positive, 2) the menu was tempting, and 3) the restaurant was directly across the street from our hotel (Fairmont.) When we arrived at 4:30 pm after having just arrived in town, we found out the the dining room was booked for the... More

We had the most amazing brunch in this place. The pecan roll was such a great starter. I've had the prawn eggs which were really amazing. My husband had some horseradish rib meat with eggs and he really loved it. The side fries are huge. The rosemary pear mimosas were simply delicious! Only dessert was a little disappointment, since everyone... More

We tried to eat in the main dining room but the reservation was later than we would have liked. Sat at the bar, it was like going to Emory and Jason's kitchen, very relaxed, I believe we had the same menu as the main dining room. Started with the steak tartare, amazing, and generous. the charcuterie platter contained treats that... More

The Blue Duck Tavern, the signature restaurant of the Park Hyatt Hotel at 24th and M Streets in the West End, delivers American cuisine crafted in an old fashioned European hotel style. Let's cut to the chase: This is a pricey restaurant, best enjoyed on an expense account. We visited it recently when we decided to make brunch outdoors the... More

A great place to try...sort of an electic menu but fun. The menu did not have many choices but what was available was great.
