Description: Blue Duck Tavern, a contemporary neighborhood restaurant, invites its guests to gather and celebrate in good taste with a menu focusing on the freshest ingredients available from local purveyors and artisans. The menu notes every farm where the main ingredient for the dish was raised before its journey to the table. Dishes are genuine, time-honored and traditional -- slow roasting in wood embers, braising, preserving and smoking techniques bring the true flavors of America's great, simple and wholesome foods to the Blue Duck Tavern. The restaurant has an elegant residential feel through the open staff pantry and kitchen, wood-burning oven and the showpiece Molteni range.

Stood in front of the place, looking for a tavern of some sort, and had to ask a local where this Blue Duck Tavern was. Looks and feels like no tavern I know. But the food was exquisite, and the service friendly and efficient. Prices not outrageous.

We made a reservation for the night of my daughter's last GWU final. We were lucky to get in with only a few days notice -- but the 9:15 reservation probably didn't hurt our chances. We found the bread fantastic, and the shaved brussell sprout salad was like a nice crispy cole slaw. For entrees, we had their Chicken with... More

There was no long waits we were seated straight away and the restaurant is large and pleasant, We were seated looking into the main kitchen where you could watch the chefs preform their magic. The waiter was pleasant and attentive but not over bearing, he explained each dish as required and made recommendations which were helpful. The food was excellent... More

My girlfriend and I have twice now gone to the bar for appetizers, deserts, and drinks. We've gotten enough to fill us up, but granted, it isn't quite a full meal. This place is very expensive, and even eating only a little came to $70+, but it's always a great time. The food never disappoints, and it's a nice venue.... More

GOOD food but nothing incredible. I thought it was decent but too creamy and heavy in think flavors. Friendly staff and our waiter brought out complimentary ice cream to go with our apple pie (which was just blah). However, very nice touch and we appreciate it! This is located inside of a hotel so it's very sheek and modern but... More

This place is good but not great. Very overated as are most decent restaurants in that area. They are traditionally rude for average food and average service. I have had good meals here but not a regular spot for me.

This is my favorite brunch place. Love their food and service is excellent. When I think of places to go for brunch, their orange juice always comes to mind. It's so good! That's the main reason why I drag my family to come here. And I'm not an orange juice person. My family love this place.

Thank you for bringing your family here to dine for brunch. We look forward to seeing you all again soon. Best, Renee... More

This restaurant must be experienced to believed. You can go as a couple or with friends - it's terrific either way. We had three in our party and because they serve the meals "family style" it afforded us the opportunity to taste a wider variety of dishes on the menu. And they were all absolutely fantastic. We began with the... More

We had great service and a great wine--Morgan Syrah--recommended by our waiter, Justin. The small salads were perfectly dressed. My wife had the suckling pig--outstanding, I had the braised beef rib, very good. We shared the risotto as a side dish--excellent. We got the signature apple pie, but were disappointed (for the second time). We got the apple pie again... More

Dear arthurman2, Thank you for sharing your feedback. While it appears you and your wife and had an enjoyable dining experience, I am disappointed to read that our Apple Pie was not up to your standards, twice. This is one of our most signature dishes. They say the "third time is the charm", so hopefully the next time you come... More
