I chose the Blue Duck Tavern for our first meal in DC based on the reviews on this and other foodie websites. It was the perfect choice for our first meal. It was just a short cab ride away from the Sofitel where were staying. I loved the trendy, swanky ambiance just as I imagined the DC restaurants would have.... more

We recently had dinner at the Blue Duck and it was a wonderful night. The staff we very courteous and efficient, not overbearing as can be common in American restaurants but also readily available when we did want something. The food was wonderful and to our pleasant surprise not overly expensive. The layout out of the restaurant is good, we... more

We went on a Sunday night for dinner. When we walked in, I thought this was going to be a snooty place. I was wrong. Our waitress and servers were charming and informative about the food and wine. The service was exemplary. We are NY-ers and have pretty high standards (not to be snooty, myself) and I have to say... more

This is a great restaurant for both service and food. Everything was cooked to perfection and of the hightest quality. It was, however, outlandishly expensive but if you have the money and appreciate the best, it is worth it. There is not much ambiance in the Blue Duck - it's quite sterile but definitely a culinary experience. more

Blue Duck Tavern is in a location convenient to Georgetown. A nice, modern look to it. The food is delicious, especially the seafood choices. The entrees are large enough to share and served to make it easy to pass around the table. The side dishes are all a la carte, and they are served family style (large portions designed for... more

Wife took me there for my b'day & it was an absolutely enjoyable experience. The decor was fantastic, service excellent, food very good, prices quite reasonable. Only gripe, my wife is a vegetarian and the choices were extremely limited for her. She went for the gnocchi side dish which she thought was pretty good. But some more choices would've been... more

The interior of this restaurant matches the food style - modern, comfortable, fresh, artisan, expansive. My MD soft shell crab was sweet and freshly plucked from the sea. The duck breast with plums and a delicious sauce was willingly soaked up by the smooth mashed potato. Dessert was my favorite - an eggy custard with fresh poached plum. On my... more

We were very pleased with our recent experience at the Blue Duck Tavern. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant and the view of the kitchen was enjoyable to watch. The food quality was excellent. A few very minor issues, but did not ruin our visit. First, some of the items on the menu cannot be altered as them are... more

From the greeting to the “good night” we were attended to with charm and efficiency. Our server, Mike, was interesting without being intrusive. His recommendations were spot on. As to the food…wonderful! I had the roast chicken and my wife had the Tavern Steak done to perfection. Even before we dug in, the assortment of aromas wafting from the dishes... more

Had dessert in the comfy lounge. Delish warm chocoate cake and ice cream. So so signature apple pie. Very nice staff--unusual for Washington. more
