1st Time - Good and reasonably priced.

Today was my first time eating here. I picked up a lunch to go order of Pineapple Fried Rice. While I know that isn't very Thai-like, it was quite good with a nice subtle flavor of cashews. The service was very friendly, and the pickup process was quick and efficient. I will have to come back to... read more

The place is cute, the prices were good, but 2 pepper hot is more like 4 or 6?pepper hot!! I love spicy food, but don't want to burn off my lips! I had the Pad Ped and I could barley eat it. My fellow traveler had the Pad Thai which I tried and it was good, but the peanuts tasted... More

Typically when I eat on the Hill I go to more high end places but a friend wanted to eat there - my first experience. I love Thai food and was anxious to find another good place. Small location, service was very pleasant, not quite top notch but totally adequate. The food, however, was wodnerful. Authentic Thai, spicy as you... More

Had a very nice lunch experience here. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. I went with the Crispy Chicken Kaprow - a tasty combination of stir-fried chicken, green beans and basil. The heat was there, but not overbearing. Location is very convenient.

We thought that the food was good but not great. The location is nice. Ambience is typical for a Thai place. The price is a bit higher than $5-$10 as listed in the description. Entrees are more like $10-15.

Now, I know that each experience at a restaurant is unique -- the dish one orders, the waitperson who delivers it. Having said that, my experience at the Talay Thai was superb. Our group, engaged in a bit of lobbying and good conversation, sat in the sun on a warm day in May and enjoyed lunch. I am not certain... More

We went there on Easter day evening because we were near the capital hill and I found this in tripadvisor on my phone. The restaurant was empty at that time so was hesitating whether I made a right decision. The food turned out to be very tasteful. The environment is generally clean. The waiter and waitress are friendly. We virtually... More

A little sort of hole in the wall near the US Capitol. Excellent food. Best drunken noodle I ever had.

We were looking for a good place to have lunch/dinner, and we found this place at 1 mile of the capitol. We werent sure to enter because it was empty, but it was not for the food. It was really good food and good price. We ate pad thai and it was a huge portion and delicius. We will repeat.

Talay Thai offers solid Thai food and very fast service. When the weather is nice, they also have a good outdoor seating area.
