Chadwick's No More

The place has been sold to Mr. Smith's owners who used to be on M Street, but could no longer afford the rent there. Sad, sad, sad! Two of my favorite drinking institutions are gone. Chadwick's had great food/prices and awesome bartenders. Now it's gone. Mr. Smith's had an ambiance of a small... read more

Sunday night in Georgetown, looked for something relatively light to eat. Stopped here, near the canal. Ate at the bar, kind of sports bar place. Place was quiet, got served quickly. Cheeseburger ($11) was okay. Ordered the Plain Apple Pie ($5.50) also okay. Place seemed clean. Server/bartender was helpful in his suggestions.

Called for reservation on a Saturday night at 5:15 and they took our 4party at 6:30. Tough to get a table in Georgetown, (and near the water too!) on weekends. Great specials-3.50 Margaritas, 6.00 wings(both half price). Known for their burgers(half price on Mondays I think-6.00) and my kids was great. Food was average except for the fried green tomatoes...they... More

The ambiance is nice and the menu is good and varied. The sandwiches were all good. The waiter was rude and acted put upon, however. He was particularly annoyed when I ordered a second pot of tea, telling me rudely that I'd have to pay for it because they don't give free refills and indicating that he was annoyed that... More

Came here for a late meal with a friend. It was a nice place to eat. The nachos and potato skins were very good. We happen to eat when it was $3 for beer. Had a great time. I would come back again.

I love the area and sense of history where Chadwick's sits nestled between the Potomac and the water's edge of Georgetown. (There's a great riverside park directly across the street - great spot if you arrive early or want to "walk off" your meal). The atmosphere of the restaurant feels like a dark, woody, slightly upscale pub with sense of... More

Under the bridge, away from the noisy crowds, we didn't expect much but were pleasantly surprised. The service was great, the food was very good, and the prices were reasonable. We had ribs, salmon, and crabcakes. All very good. Sweet potato fries much better than the regular ones.

We took a water taxi from Alexandria to Georgetown and were planning on finding somewhere good to eat, but we didn't have anything planned. Our water taxi tickets came with a 50% off coupon for Chadwick's on K. We decided to try it and were really happy with our choice. We were seated right away. The staff was attentive. It... More

I was in town from Buffalo, NY and met some of my local friends here for brunch on a Sunday mid-morning. The worst part was trying to find parking and we were a tad late for our reservations but that was no problem for Chadwick's. They were very understanding. We were sat immediately and our waiter Christopher was friendly, helpful... More

A cool place to hang out with friends to chill out for a while, not a romantic fancy place though. They have flexible happy hours every day.
