If you are looking for chain restaurant atmosphere with children's menu and coloring books this is not the place for you. This is a great down to earth neighborhood place with solid food and no fake atmosphere. Pretty much seat yourself, enjoy a beer and you can order breakfast all day long. Sit at the bar or one of the... More

I was traveling with my family- hubby and two boys ages 13 and 19- so anyplace that serves hearty, heavy food was on the radar. They loved the fried cheeseburger, pastrami sandwich, and WV Joe. Earlier reviews talked about rude service- but we were greeted upon entering and told we could sit anywhere. Our waitress was pleasant. Crowd was changing... More

We found this place by accident while out for a walk; it was quite a mixture of impressions. The location is very convenient to Capitol Hill. We kind of had to push our way through the bar crowd at the front in order to get to the seating at the back. The waiter seated us wordlessly; we wondered if he... More

Brought my wife and kids last Sunday while in dc upon entering we walked past six drunk idiots standing against a wall along the bar nobody actually sat at , and after waiting a few minutes and watching the waitress walk past us several times one of them mumbled for us to seat ourselves. We did and continued to watch... More

Great food, history and character... What else do you need. Oh wait - good food that is relatively inexpensive. If you are looking for fine dining- move along. However if you want a great burger, sandwich, or breakfast - this is your place. The Tune Inn never disappoints. Look for the deer butt on the menu... And after you order... More

I saw this place on Triple D and with an upcoming trip to the DC area, decided to check it out. About a 1/2 mile walk from the Capital South Metro stop, it was easy to find and in a fun little neighborhood. We were there after the lunch hour so easily found a booth along the back wall. The... I had delicious food, but one of the strangest experiences at a bar/restaurant. The waiter repeatedly just walked by and slammed stuff onto the table. That was how I was served. Not a word said, I would just hear something hit the table, look up, and see food or drink, and then the back of the waiter. Waitress was pleasant... More

After navigating the streets of DC we had quite an appetite. The staff were great and the food was great. We talked with them about seeing them on Diners, Drive In's and Dives. They were great to talk to and the service was quick. I didn't' see them as a Dive but a fun place to eat. Go there! You... More

Enjoyed the atmosphere but the food was average, I was super excited to for the fried burger and it wasn't something I would order again, for me it was overcooked and nothing special. My daughter has the Buffalo Chicken salad and it was great.

We found this place accidentally as we were searching for another location near Capitol Hill. A patron at a neighboring location suggested we try it DESPITE it's appearance. That it had been on Fieri Food Network shows etc. We were lucky to get in before a rush came in. We tried fried pickles and cheese sticks and they were fantastic.... More
