Smith's is my favorite bunch place downtown. I love the crab omelet and the Bloody Mary's. I have been going here for an eternity. The piano bar was a weekend staple for a couple of decades. So sorry to hear that it is closing. A bit of old time DC - funky and friendly.... to be replaced by places for... More

Overall an average experience. Went while in Georgetown after a long travel day. Drawn in by the sin for a piano bar and outdoor garden seating. Walked through a happening bar scene but no piano bar. Garden was kind of enclosed and dark. Food was fair but not pricy for the area.

Stopped to watch a match and would go back another time to try more. Happy hour drink prices are fair. Chili nachos were blah, but the wings were good as were the chicken fingers (more like planks - well done)

Mr. Smith's is unique in Georgetown because it is unpretentious. I was very excited to try Mr. Smith's; they had some good drink specials (some $5 shots/drinks and a $3.25 beer of the month). The drinks were weak, certainly not worth my money. If/when I return, I'll stick to beer. I ordered the chicken fingers appetizer, which was nothing special... More

We headed over on the recommendation of the concierge at the Willard, who described it perfectly. Loud enough to have trouble talking, but good piano player who was talented and professional. He came on at 10pm Saturday night, and we stayed through almost two sets. A broad range of favorites, and a good crowd. Beer menu not extensive, but adequate.... More

I found this place to be unimpressive. I had the worst Cosmo I ever tasted there. I don't even think they put Cranberry juice in it, probably just flavoured vodka. My companion had a foreign object floating in his beer... We decided not to eat there after that. So many other nice places in the vicinity to eat and drink... More

As the title says, I have been eating at Mr. Smith's for about 25 years -- both at the Georgetown location and at the now-closed Tyson's Corner location. Aside from a few beers and their delicious onion rings, I don't think I have ever ordered any food except but a Smith burger or a garden burger. Why mess with perfection?... More

The signage is Piano Bar but the menus call this restaurant Mr Smiths. We ate quite late and the restaurant was empty. It was a Tuesday night, after the memorial weekend and a very heavy storm so we weren't too surprised that it was empty. I ordered flatbread steak sandwich with fresh fruit. The choice was fruit or fries. I... More

Was shopping in Georgetown and stopped for lunch. It has the best of both worlds - a bar area when you first come in or a lovely outdoor garden area in the back (in addition to normal indoor dining). Lunch was delicious - I had a burger, which was huge and curly fries; my daughter had a terrific salad. Would... More
